Eminent domain mothafvcka.
Get ready for a legal battle that will cost you more than the property, cuz big government can literally just take your sh1t at below market value.
@Mhael, just like it says in the Constitution
@Mhael, I was about to say. If the city and state say the road will continue. It’ll continue and theres not a damn thing you can do about it. So better off just trying to get the most you can out of it.
@Mhael, below market value? I thought they usually paid higher than the property costed
@Sadist, depends on the city/state. If the state has a lot of funds they would pay at market value (market value might be higher than what you bought it at because property prices have risen significantly).
If the city/state are low on funds, and they normally are, they pay below market value, which might still be more than what you paid for that property, but it's still less than it's worth.
I know this from firsthand experience :)
@Mhael, thank you for taking the time to explain it to me
Captain Real Estate: Civil War
"It's my property!"
"It's free real estate."
We're going to build a giant road and get the wall to pay for it
Ah eminent domain, perhaps my least favorite part of the US Constitution but it is what it is
