*throws handful of pens onto map, screaming in german* FOILED AGAIN!
@liberachi , screaming in Mexican*
@liberachi , were building a wall to keep out Mexicans because France already tried a hole to keep out Germans and it didn't work
I've heard Mexico has a southern border wall. It that is true, then why shouldn't the USA have one as well
@Jakobian, because its racist when the US does anything. Just like how Canada and most other countries have merit based immigration and are extremely strict on illegal immigration but God forbid the US do anything
@Oujosh29, there you go, applying uniform standards and consistent judgment to international policy, don't you know this robs Democrats of a very valuable voting base? You can't bring up facts that interfere with their goals, that's just not fair. Matter of fact, that's down right mean. And if you're mean to Democrats you must be racist and fascist and a Nazi.
@Jakobian, my impression was that people hated the wall because it’s impractical as a defence against illegal immigrants. the number of illegal immigrants getting in by sneaking across the land border isn’t as high as other methods, like entering legally and then overstaying a visa. The wall is more of a political symbol than an effective tool.
@Oujosh29, but I thought Canada and most other countries were socialist and just because everyone is doing it doesn't mean America has to *cough*healthcare*cough* also Canada has super lax immigration laws and Mexico has no southern border wall
@Oujosh29, it's more how you do it.
@Oujosh29, its racist for anyone to do it... the israeli wall is god tier racist and israel hold african immigrants capptive in a prison in the desert...
@Donald Drumpf, pretty much every country is strict on immigration, that really doesnt have much to do with socialism. And it may surprise you to know I wouldn't mind a socialist health care system in the US if I had any confidence they'd do a better job with that than they've done with the VA. after my experiences with the VA, I dont.
@MrLogg, ok I'll bite, how is it racist?
@Oujosh29, I'll do you one further. In the EU, your citizenship is based off your parents, not where you are born. I have Romanian family living in Austria with resident visas, and their kids were born in Austria, but are not Austrian citizens. They are Romanian citizens. I want the USA to do that.
@biolojist, yeah there was a movement for that an shockingly they were called racists. The reason for the amendment was valid at the time but now it's being abused like crazy.
@Oujosh29, if you don't see the difference in how Trump talks about it vs others, I'm not sure I could make you see it? It's not just because it's the US but the latest events separating children from their parents are not in line with normal views on human beings.
@MrLogg, I never mentioned Trump. Immigration has been a hot issue long before Trump including a wall being built ordered by Congress. Trump has doubled down on it but the "US strict on immigration = racist" crap has been going on for a long time.
@Oujosh29, fair. It is a hot potato, but one has to be careful on how you express yourself. The problem is rarely the individuals but that is often what many are saying.
@Oujosh29, I think the reason strict immigration enforcement has often been associated with racism even before Trump is because the motives for it are questionable. Just saying “well they’re here illegally!” or “other countries do it!” doesn’t provide much justification for why we should spend our own resources to remove illegal immigrants. I’m from CA, and they way a lot of us here see it, illegal immigrants do a lot of the work nobody else wants to do. For example, farming work. And they do it at a much cheaper price. That helps us grow food for the rest of the US, which everyone else buys at now cheaper prices. Also, a surprisingly high percentage of illegal immigrants still pay income tax, and they all pay sales tax on the things they buy in the US. And the immigrants themselves still benefit because the job opportunities must still be better than at their home (self-evident, else why would they come?). So given this win-win type situation, the question really is why should we care
@Oujosh29, so much or try so hard to get rid of them? Not saying everyone who takes a hardline on illegal immigration is racist, but that is certainly a likely hidden motive for a lot of people. And the recent Trump movement certainly hasn’t helped that. Hope that helps. Not trying to call anyone anything here. Just offering another perspective.
@Scuzzinator, the reasons you are looking for are numerous for removing illegal immigrants. I’m going to skip over the obvious point of a large number of them are part of a criminal enterprise and go straight to the issue with the ones that aren’t apart of a criminal enterprise, healthcare and disease. Many illegal immigrants will use the emergency room for minor things, like a migraine, and this drives up cost overall. So when you are wondering why that ER visit cost $6k it’s because the hospital is trying to cover lost revenue from non-paying sources. A decent chunk of which is created by illegal immigrants. Then come the disease part. As it literally only takes one illegal immigrant with some sickness to cross over to cause an outbreak. It has happened before and the worst part is that there have been time where they have been treated, gotten better, been deported, and then came back again with the same sickness. Only this time the sickness is highly resilient to the medicine. (1/2)
@ThatGuyx79, These now resilient sicknesses are now essentially super bacteria/virus/etc. Add in the fact that some farmers like to feed anti-biotic to their livestock like it was candy to fatten them up, and you got yourself ailments, that under normal conditions would be simple to treat and non-life threatening, are now extremely difficult to treat and are life threatening if left untreated. These are two of the major reasons, of many, why removing illegal immigrants happens that doesn’t involve any criminal behavior beyond having entered illegally.
@YUNoJump, actually that was just a talking point created by people opposed to the wall that didn’t take into account that the wall would reduce illegal immigration by around 40% but also severely hinder the cartels drug smuggling operations. So it actually has a practical purpose other than just stopping illegal immigrants.
@Jakobian, Because it would be cheaper and more effective to have a drone wall. Also Mexico has a very small southern border comparatively, is thus much cheaper to build. We on the other hand, have a southern border thousands of miles long.
@Oujosh29, duh, standards, rules, and laws all discriminate one group of people from another by their very being. We all know that anything that racism is discrimination, so obviously anything that discriminates is racist. But only if a white man is responsible.
@ThatGuyx79, do you have any evidence to back up these things you say?
@ThatGuyx79, is it only illegal immigrants who brings sickness? The criminals always find ways to secure their income, maby slows them down for a while but nothing more than that. Never heard of any other country who has the same costs for health care but still has lots of immigrants how come?
Its to keep out the zombies
@Pvt BB Ghanoush, Brad Pitt showed us that didn't work out very well
Australia built a mote...... That's hard-core
Too bad it didn’t keep the Jews inside Israel either. They were scattered for around 2000 years until the Nazis unified them.
@chickee fella, kinda like how we unified the Japanese?
@chickee fella, that wall and the country it surrounds were built after the fall of the Nazis.
Nah see we remade the Japanese in our own image. Destruction then creation. Like some sort of weird Eagle Freedom Jesus. And now Japan is the cutting edge of technology, low birth rates, hentai, and capitalism. As God intended.
@PottedPlant, It's called the ol nuclear reset
@I Are Lebo, the country it surrounds existed before then, it was just considered Palestine.
@Samtuttle, that’s incredible. Every word of that sentence was wrong.
No, that's Caspian Border remastered!
Subject/verb agreement. Please.
.... I guess!
Almost kept the zombies all out too
