I don’t care for religion, but I really hate these guys that take advantage of how gullible religious people can be. Aren’t all these tv priest those, “the more you pay me the better your chance to get to heaven is” kind of crap teachings?
@Dexios S Divine, I hate it too, there are honest and respectful people who are being taken advantage of, in any situation I hate to see that.
@Dexios S Divine, yes but would you not use that super fun slide into the holy juices or whatever it is
@Dexios S Divine, they preach the "prosperity gospel" which they claim is that the more you give to them the more you'll receive in this life. That by giving money to "god" you'll get money back. Just as much bullshjt and even more manipulative.
@Autismo, u mean tax payers?
@Dexios S Divine, yes.... my mother used to go to these conferences until I pointed out the money they were making for EVERY persons ticket. Then at “break” time they would sell religious items.. and just everything. Like really? Jesus even says look for private to pray. A relationship with God should be personal, and it doesn’t and shouldn’t cost anything.
@Dexios S Divine,I feel you. I went to a megachurch here and to join they asked, if I died today would I go to heaven? I said, that's not for me to determine. And they were like, na you should know you will if you believe. I'm like, I believe, but I'm not God. It really feels like they are selling members tickets to heaven. So found a Methodist Church instead, much more reasonable.
@devalation, Yeah, I don’t care what people believe, but how does paying shït on earth equal me getting into heaven? I really don’t get how people literally buy into that. I hate these mega churches for baiting people into their lies
@Dexios S Divine, I'm a Christian, and this kind of stuff frustrates the crap out of me. Granted not all churches are like this, but a lot of the "mega churches" focus more on being "trendy". And no one should ever think you have to pay or act a certain way to get into heaven.
@Dexios S Divine, that’s called Catholicism. Water slide baptism is closer to Jesus’ teachings than Catholic Baptism.
@Child Slapper, yeah, my fam was raised chatholic, none of that extortion crap came up
@Dexios S Divine, you can pay Catholic priests to say a special prayer to God and the saints so that any of your family that may be in purgatory may be sent to heaven and work off their sins faster. Definitely a scam. That is part of the Catholic theology. Half my family are Catholics and I have a Bachelors in Christian Theology. Catholics are the group responsible for the crusades, and for the continuation of alchemy that halted scientific discoveries for years. They incited mob mentality, and they change their own doctrine constantly to please the world, especially in modern times. The leaders of the Catholic Church are corrupt and evil and manipulate their loving followers.
@Dexios S Divine, and TV preachers who are about the money are definitely scum. But any of them who say that you must be “good” to get into heaven are following more Catholic Theology.
Truth is, Jesus never said to be good to get into Heaven. He said: follow me and believe that I died to take your place so that when you are going to be judged for your sins, if you believe in me, God will see perfection.
Jesus said, believe him, and he will make you good after. All other Religions say you have to be good first. Jesus is literally the opposite of all this fake religion.
@Child Slapper, guess the church i went to growing up wasn’t corrupted cuz nothing with money was brought up besides donations to keep the church running. I stopped believing religion a long time ago other than christian based ones i dont have in-depth knowledge on em. Imo, anything that requires you doing a material thing for another human just rings bullshït to me
@Dexios S Divine, I agree completely with you on that one. Doing things for others with hopes that I myself would benefit is just as selfish. It makes no sense. That’s why when I started to study, and realized Jesus taught differently, I decided to follow him. He says that once we choose to follow him, because we will have him in our hearts, we will want to do things and help other people. That’s pretty awesome. We’re not judged by doing the good, we’re judged by whether we chose Jesus or not. It’s so simple :)
Just so ya know babylon bee is a satire website.
@chiefsguy, Good call. This seemed totally believable, though.
Guys this is a spoof article, it's by the religious version of the onion
Jesus faced his sceptical followers and said, "This way, is a water slide away from me
that takes you further every day..." After a long silence, the crowd was cool and all was good.
Nice to see my voters having fun
I mean, in theory the two are cobinable, in practice it is yet to be perfectly executed. Largely to the lack of spirituality added to it.
It's weird, and I don't really like it when churches go for spectacle but the preacher at that church does a great job. Like it feels like genuinely good advice even if you're not a Christian. Good stuff on YouTube if you're curious.
Can y'all spell GULLIBLE?
As a Catholic this stuff is super bizarre to me. Is this seriously common in the US? The “Christian” churches not the slide
How is this against their religious beliefs? Does the bible say "thou shall have no fun"?
I’d be more impressed if they slid up the slide.
