I knew that the media blew things out of proportion to get reactions, but this is just ridiculous. I suppose next you'll tell me he was armed with a 5 foot long knife.
@Marida Cruz, *draws katana. Uses it to spread jelly on toast*
@Marida Cruz, that's called a sword
@A pet named Steve, the joke
@The Puppet Man, I see
*Takes 5 foot long knife and commits seppuku*
@A pet named Steve, sharpen it, and itll be like 40k
@A pet named Steve, it's a Messer
@Jakobian, or is it a Schwert?
@Marida Cruz, Not as dangerous as a 3inch sword
@Marida Cruz, you mean a sword?
@hombom, that's the joke, yes. Sort of like how for a gun to fire 200 rounds without reloading, it'd have to be a machine gun and not a pistol.
And this is part of the problem, when a detail gets misunderstood then incorrect information gets passed around. Using this as an example;
He had over 200 rounds loaded. The average magazine for a 9mm is 15, 16 when topped off with a round in the chamber. If he brought 15 mags then yes he had over 200 rounds loaded. Not at once.
Unfortunately the reporting that he did indeed have 200+ rounds in one mag will undoubtedly lead to more protests about high capacity magazines, which this dude likely didn't use. The issue of gun violence is at its core, mental health. Not high capacity mags, not bump stocks, mental health.
@ Tobias Widower, And that is why I am honestly sick of the mainstream media. It's not necessarily fake news, but they blow it way out of proportion or miscommunicate or misinterpret the critical information.
The latest one I saw was, "The [motorcycle racer] was banned for 2 races for touching another guy's brakes." Banned and suspended are two completely separate terms and have different meanings.
@bowlnmike, pssst..... Have you heard about our lurd and savior #MugClub?
@ Tobias Widower, mental health is such a lazy bullshjt answer. im pretty neutral on guns, built my own AR from scratch, but come on. Some people just kill cuz they’re violent, not sick. The Vegas shooter didn’t have a mental illness, neither did the black church or gay club shooters. Some people are just violent, mental health is the goto scapegoat and it’s idiotic
@Hoban Washburne, somewhat agree. I’d say shooting people at all is mentally unstable. But it’s culture. Malcolm Gladwell really did a great job explaining it in “tipping point”.
@Hoban Washburne, while a weak and dissatisfactory answer, what else do you cal the urge to kill and maim? The problem is that the blanket term mental health doesn't provide any solutions.
@ Tobias Widower, the simple reality is that these things happen, and they will sadly always happen and there is no law that will really prevent it. If all people do is watch the morning news they will think that they have been happening at a drastically higher rate, but the truth is that they aren't. It's sad, but it happens, and it just gets covered and politicized more than in the past.
He had a gun from the movies?
Is that one of those fully semi automatic magnum AR-47 machine assault rifles the Washington post keeps telling me about.
That would kill your thumb to reload, unless you have a speed loader. In that case you'd get carpal tunnel syndrome
@UglyNakedGuy, That's why I like to stick with guns with double stack double feed mags vs single feed
*gun jams on first shot*
Reminds me of that one halo video from newgrounds
