What says you flat earthers???
@megamanx181x, “fake and gay”
@open name, so like, “gake”
@open name, fake because he actually did something of importance to society, gay because he calculated the distance between two cities in Egypt which contained men, which have ducks so he was thinking about the distance between men's d!cks
@megamanx181x, they’ll say either fake or the circumference of their flat disc theory
@open name, no u
This is my favorite astronomy history story. I have been telling people about this who don't really care for a long time
@Dephenistrator, it's so cool! Wasn't he a lot closer than 10%, too?
@Dephenistrator, I learned how to do this in earth science class... also learned how to navigate using the sun and a watch... Man that would be useful if I remembered any of it
At 24,901 miles. A 10% error is 2,400 miles. He missed a whole continent somewhere.
@loose357, he missed Australia, because we all know Australia isn't real
@loose357, I was gonna say; 10% of these calculations is a shît load
@loose357, he forgot to take into account the gravitational effect your mom had on that light. I’m sure if he had he would be spot on with the calculations haha
10% is a pretty huge margin of error.
If the earth were 10% larger or smaller than it is, I reckon things would be very different.
He now shows up on reruns of Cheers and Frasier..
It actually had a 1% error, not 10%.
Not true. He simply measured the circumference of his own fvcking cranium and multiplied by ten, because that some is definitely 1/10th the size of a Planet.
I think the Egyptians did it first by at least a few centuries with a much more accurate measurement.
