@Duncan5769, they test all kinds of things related to the main purpose of the program. The product is released, and the first user asks it to do something unrelated to it's main purpose and shít happens

@Duncan5769, programmers have to code for all the dumb stuff users will try to do that they shouldn't. QA tests by playing the part of the dumbass to make sure the system won't crash if you do try to do something stupid. They have to think of all the ways some idiot could make a mistake to make sure the program properly handles idiot commands.

@Duncan5769, A QA tester’s purpose in software is essentially to find as many ways as possible to break shjt in it so the programmers can have as many possibilities for what people might try to do ironed out.

I found lots of bugs back when I did beta testing for world of Warcraft expansions and even found temp workarounds for literal game breaking ones, there was always that idiot that said everyone was stupid and we didn’t know what we were doing and then had to beg for help getting around the bugs till they got fixed. Just a meandering story.
