He could have made it.
@BM Fahrtz, I watched enough Dukes of Hazard to know the cops never make it. He made the right call.
@ZohmB, SHOOT THE MOON!
@ZohmB, but if he was half the driver the Duke bros were, he'd have cleared it
That would be a phenomenal lawsuit. Safety equipment not working, depending on the jurisdiction, negligence per se at a minimum.
@guy212183, I'm a train conductor and let me tell you that person and their grandkids can now retire happily
@BeaverNugs, do you see this happen often? V
@guy212183, not really but we do hit alot of trucks that get hi centered on crossings
@BeaverNugs, that's sad people sue when nothing actually happened. Is there a huge safety issue that needs to be addressed and fixed? Absolutely. Did anyone get hurt in this situation? Nope.
@CynicalSirr, only a lawsuit if someone was hurt.
@guy212183, not necessarily true. His quick reaction saved his life, and the faulty safety devices threatened it. This would still be persuadable.
@sleepy536, wrong. You might meet the first two elements. But causation and damages are not there. No injury no medical bills no suit. Period.
What is really scary is i cross those tracks twice a day for work, there is no train horn and the gates malfunctioned, that cop had no warning the commuter train was about to come across
@LambdaCore, I saw the video on NBC News. Keep you eyes open hommie. They need to give warning toots lol
@fuddruckers, depending on the area the toots are not required
I like how the guy in front of him wasn’t even phased. Either that or he’s stupid and didn’t see the train.
@Jauffre, maybe they saw it and just accelerated to get out of De Way
@Jauffre, none of them probably saw it, the guy coming the opposite way came the closest to getting hit. The problem was the gates didn't come down in time for the train.
@cuddleslut, do you know de way?
Yesterday I went into a youtube rabbit hole of watching bad drivers with road rage and now this is on funny pics. The world is trying to tell me something.
@haarknir, you ever see the channel Idiots on Wheels? Some of those are pretty funny.
Now you know why buses stop at all railroad crossings.
This happened at the crossing right by my old job, must have driven over those tracks hundreds of times. Make ya realize this sh!t can happen anywhere
@TheJimmy144, I live in this town! Head that way all the time.
My driver's ed class made me fear this. We watched a video that included pics of mutilated train-on-vehicle collision victims. One was of a dude who was entirely gone from the waist up.
Good thing that road to nowhere had a blocker.
@x2 6x 9 lol, I think that was for the crosswalk. Day late and a dollar short though.
Me, narrowly avoiding the consequences of my bad life decisions
You have to look both ways before crossing, regardless if the equipment is working or not.
