@Bad Boi Jesus, *waves a white flag*
Yeah why the telecom companies can’t block those. Well we all know why. They don’t want to.
That said I was getting scam calls 2 or 3 times a day at one point. I would literally be getting 2 scam calls at a time at one point. I started using my iPhone’s do not disturb mode and leaving it on 24 hours a day at first. But one of the downsides was my phone wouldn’t beep to let me know when I got a text message. Even though people who are on my contact list could call through. So that became a problem. As I never knew when I got a text unless I looked at my phone. Plus those damn robot calls could still leave voicemails which would be really annoying
So I install the Robokiller App. Lets just say it works as advertised. I no longer get any scam calls. This is why I know the telecom companies could do something about Robo calls and Scam calls. But they choose not to. I blame them and the FCC for not taking the steps necessary to end the problem.
@Seohn, that would have been nice to know. We figured out if you listen all the way through a robot call, there's usually an option at the end to opt out of future calls. Snd if it's an actual person on the line, tell them you're writing down their name and number and will be reporting them to the police. We get maybe 1 spam call a year now.
@iLikeBigBooks, that doesn’t work for Scam callers. They don’t give a crap. I have literally had them cuss me out when I told them to stop calling. I’m on the national do not call registry too. That press a number or take you off the calling list. That doesn’t work with scam callers. All it does is make them call more.
Do you know how many times I’ve been told that this is my final notice to get a better interest rate? I’ve been getting a call for the last two or three years no matter how many times I’ve told them take me off the call list or I’ve pressed the button to remove me. I wonder when it’s actually going to be my final notice?
So while yes what you say will work with legitimate companies. It doesn’t work for scam’s. Which is why I started using Robokiller.
Student loans? Lol just work full time while going to school like I did. Its hard but its worth it.
All the fvcking time
Man I tried that tactic. Turns out they were calling about my student loan and the fact that I had not paid it (due to being homeless which they don't give a fvck about btw).
@Sr5turbo, just get out of your student loans by being dead. They stop coming after you then. Just don't realive because they'll be angry.
@mas2de, or you can always fake your own death. Win win, no more paying students loans, and you don’t have to be actually truly dead. You’re technically playing dead.
