I didnt think it was that great. Just saying.
@Lysander99, It's decent (great by Netflix produced standards), but nothing to really write home about.
@Lysander99, I liked it better when it was called the Happening
@Steve the cat, happening had far different rules, if by the happening you just mean "cant see what's killing you" then yes its exactly like the happening
@CellSword, it's been a while, but my recollection is the main difference is an environmental agent makes ppl kill themselves vs a supernatural agent makes ppl kill themselves. I enjoyed both, I just felt while watching bird box that it was too similar
@Lysander99, My brother and his wife were talking about it, apparently the ending pissed them off
@Lysander99, and I thought it was fine. Both opinions are totally fine.
@Lysander99, I feel like it was a sci-fi movie for the masses. Just like how the big bang theory was a “smart” show for the masses. In reality there are better movies that didnt get much hype. When friends mention birdbox im like “hey if you like that you should try annihilation or arrival” and 10/10 times they’ve never heard of em.
@Lysander99, 3/10 at best
@SacState, not really a sci-fi movie. Seems more a Cthulhu mythos movie. Monsters that drive you insane if seen, the only ones that can see them are insane and become cultists.
@Lysander99, it wasn’t bad, but no, it wasn’t great either. Kind of formulaic and derivative.
I still don’t have an explanation as to why the “creatures” couldn’t enter buildings and structures...
@ImNotRacistBut, they wernt clever girls that can turn handles
@ImNotRacistBut, my gf got mad when I kept asking that and calling them stupid for not being able to
@ImNotRacistBut, maybe it was something that only manifests in the sky? Sort of like a cloud?
@ImNotRacistBut, they’re vampires, they needed permission to enter a building/room that wasn’t theirs
@ImNotRacistBut, bro, they don’t have hands. That’s why they had people kill themselves.
@ImNotRacistBut, because that's just rude. Think about it. They don't hunt us down we look at them and just freak out.
@ImNotRacistBut, not only that, but if you think about it, the monsters werent a physical threat. There wasnt one example where the monster would physically harm someone, its unclear if they even had physical properties. I don't think its bad that we couldnt see the monsters, but it took away a ton of tension that they posed no real physical threat as far as we knew.
@ImNotRacistBut, too big.
I saw birdbox. It was ok-ish
It was a meh film based on a mediocre book. It was essentially The Happening, but saved by Sandra Bullock's acting
Why is everyone talking about dees vagina?
So highly overrated the movie. I rip off of the happening and was so boring
I don’t even know what it is and I’m not going to look
I think I'm just gonna watch Dead Meat's killcount on it. Summarizes the movie without wasting 2 hours.
RedLetterMedia did a good video about it.
Netflix movies are anticlimactic most of the time they're wack.
Never watched it. Looked stupid.
Still haven’t seen it. Anyone interested in watching it on Rabbit with me one day?
"Wait a minute...."
"These lesbians only have Netflix!!! Sorry ladies, but Hulu is waaaaay better!"
Tbh, I didn't know wtf that meme was about till like last weekend. So I spent weeks looking at the memes feeling like I missed something with context.
