I always wonder how humans got to the top of the food chain. We are completely useless when frightened. No sense of direction, no logic, no skill, just flailing about uselessly. When we need all our senses to work together to preserve our life, they all fail. How did we survive as a species? Not to mention babies. Babies will die if they rollover. How tf are there 7+ billion of us.
Damn, it’s late.
@ImNotRacistBut, fear directed in the right way can create some amazing thing. I bet someone built a wall out of fear of animals entering their territory.
@ImNotRacistBut, Fear drove us to make a lot of creative counters to most of the things that scare and threaten us. Maybe we haven’t managed how we cope with being afraid, but we’ve managed the sources of those fears.
@Killing instincts , are you saying we should build a wall
@Killing instincts , *heavy breathing*
@ImNotRacistBut, There were also a lot more badass humans before our few generations, I mean Vikings certainly deserve to be top of the food chain
@ImNotRacistBut, if you train and practice controlling your feelings and thoughts when you're scared, you adrenaline can make you almost make you super human. Not all people are bitches when they get frightened
@ImNotRacistBut, ... sorry what? Fear and panic pushes some of us to react hard and quick. Where you getting this lemming level stuff from?
@ImNotRacistBut, we also have a good old frontal cortex
@ImNotRacistBut, well if you throw enough human body's to a problem it seems to go away sometime, so we got that
@Diddle Kid, didn't even think of that. but I guess it works
@ImNotRacistBut, 10,000 years ago, if you were as stupid as people today are allowed to be, you died
Makes you appreciate life today huh?
@Killing instincts , I see what you did there. Lol.
Instead of the great wall of China trying to keep out the Mongolians. It’ll be the great wall of freedom trying to keep out the Mexicans.
@ImNotRacistBut, we didn't, our ancestors did, we just realized the benefits of their skills
@ImNotRacistBut, we used to be powerful and fearsome. Centuries of being on top of the food chain made us weak and dulled our senses, and many of the advantages we had are now quaint tidbits of knowledge. Few people know where we actually stack up against nature, and most live in self-imposed prisons where they trade personal freedoms for comfort, most even paying for the privilege of having their strengths neutered to make them less scary to their neighbors.
In other news, I stubbed my toe and had to take a ten minute breather the other day
@ImNotRacistBut, well that’s how people are nowadays because we’ve so use to comfort and no threats, so they have less connections to instincts. The lesson here is: always have a healthy dosage of fear to keep you healthy and alert.
