I never thought of them as atoms. WHAT ARE THEY REALLY?!
@Orphan Eater, The things you see when you're eyes are like that are referred to as "Floaters". They are dead skin within your eye that float around in your optic fluid and become visible in the light.
@A doctor, Actually, this is different to what you are referring to. These weird colours you see are your eyes responding to pressure. Proteins are involved.
@Rainbow Dash, they're called phosphens
@A doctor, that is what it is when your eyes are open actually.
does anyone ever feel themselves spinning into some warphole while doing that? i do.
@Herpus, yes i do too.
@Herpus, I do that when I'm bored.
@Cosby Armstrong, when I shut my eyes really hard, I see a wall of moving Mayan glyphs...
@Cosby Armstrong, yup
When you do that are you just looking at the inside of your eyelids? If so my eyelids look like deep space
Thumbs if tried..
Anyone else just try it?
OMG I'm happy it's not just me. And I have a question. So if I either concentrate really hard with my eyes closed or do something with my ears, it sounds like an earthquake. Me and my dad can do it. Anybody else?
@Asami Sato, you're just stretching your ears. More than likely straining your inner ear or Chohlea.
The photons emitted from the eye (infrared) have more total energy than the photons entering the eye from the outside world (visible light), however each individual infrared photon has too little energy to cause isomerization. isomerization is a matter of nudging a chemical from one structural form to another, without actually changing the chemical formula.
90% who's reading this just tried it.
I look at it as space
call me crazy but i see smaaaaall and maaaaany yellew bugs with a red background , they get bigger each time...
How would that aggravate her?
I always saw stars
Reminds me of jimmy neutron!!!
I used to think I could see atoms when I saw those dust mote thingies in your eyes....
I always thought I could see snowflakes and my kindergarten teacher thought I was a crackhead
Atoms? Really? All i can See IS a purple stripe After opening my eyes
Funny that I'm looking at this in physics class. Yep
I always see color-changing grid lines... I'm in the matrix!
Sometimes i see veins (wormy thingys?) flow past my vision and disappear do i have uroboros?
Hello how is the stock market
I hallucinated while doing that once.
Meh. Better than math class.
Uh, no you can't
Dat face in the first frame!
I always wondered what i was seeing
False, your eyelids are a slightly different thickness at any given point, therefore allowing different wavelengths of small amounts of light to pass through them, thus why when you put your hands over your eyes after closing them you can see less color.
I hate it when O concentrate and my eyes turn into triangles.
@I am Tony Stark, those comments died out a bit ago. Stop.
That's the blood going through your eyes
Admit it, you tried this to see if you saw it to
Nearly everybody here tried it
It's actually just dust on your pupil. It's not that complicated.
I Thought I Was The Only One Dude But I See Flowers
You can't see atoms and you aren't a girl either
That is a thouroghly incorrect meme facial expression in the final panel.
I always thought they looked like stars
It's actually your eyelids pressing against your eye and irritating your retina. Since you have cones and rods.that allow you to see color and light/dark, it appears though you are in space
Ummm...i always saw like faces and stuff, never little spheres...am i alone, because this is actually beginning to worry me...seriously
I always thought that!!!!
You will never be able to see atone because a light wave wavelength is longer than the length of the most massive atoms and molecules, so you won't ever be able too see them however there is a way to locate an atom in a crystal structure
I always thought of them as stars
I KNOW WHAT THEY ARE. They are lights that you captured when you closed ur eyes in ur retina
They're blood vessels. If you're careful enough, they match your heartbeat.
It's just because eyelids are transparent and you still see light through the skin. Kinda
I was told that it was the light that is trapped in your eyes when you shut them
