Literally just came out of a shower, checking fp now while in my towel. The water was so hot that my skin turned red and when I stepped out of the shower I could barely see because there was steam everywhere. Naturally, I almost froze to death when I left the bathroom.
@A pet named Steve, one time I didn't even realize I kept turning the cold down until it was eventually completely off. Felt good.
@A pet named Steve, I can’t stand that level of heat, but I myself am a human heater and don’t like getting *too* hot (biggest complaint I get in summer months when I share a blanket with someone is that I make them way too hot). I like my showers at about 75% max heat for relaxation and normal use and I like cold showers for post work-outs and to help de-stress and calm down when I’m anxious (they really do wonders for that).
@A pet named Steve, that's pretty hot.
@Sven and Otar, my sense of temperature is a bit weird. Sometimes I like it hot, sometimes cold. Whenever I lie down I get freezing cold, even if it's warm in my room. But I always scorch myself when I shower. And yeah, they really do help a lot with anxiety!
@A pet named Steve, who is it that’s downvoting you? I’ve noticed it twice today and every now and again in the past.
Maybe you should get a heated blanket or something. Might help keep you from freezing when sleeping lol
@Sven and Otar, their name is foomeyredalicefoomey. And I've called them out before, after some years of them Downvoting all the comments of me that they find. Never replied. Blocking them dies nothing, reporting does nothing. I'm just ignoring it haha.
And I've been thinking about getting a heated blanket. My only concern is that I'll burn my room to a crisp because I forget to turn it off or something.
@A pet named Steve, I think so long as you don’t have it on a crazy high temp, you should be alright.
You could also do what I do which is put reminders in my phone for everything important. So just set a reminder at 9:00 or whenever you wake up so you unplug it/turn it off and eventually it’ll become a habit
@A pet named Steve, good plan, they can suck a bag of misshapen dicks as far as I’m concerned. Idk why they’d pick on you in particular, but no one can really know the mind of a troll. But you’re doing the right thing in not giving them anything and ignoring them. Eventually if you stick it out long enough, they’ll get bored and leave you alone
@Sven and Otar, maybe I'll get one of those blankets for the winter! Thanks for the idea with the phone reminders.
And yeah, at first I was upset that they downvoted me because I didn't know why. I thought they were either jealous or I said something that offended them. Now I don't really care anymore haha.
@A pet named Steve, “riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise” my favorite line from Be Thou My Vision. While it should definitely apply to your faith in God, it also can be applied to interactions with others online.
Heed not riches nor the praise (or derision) of fellow humans who don’t mean something to you. If someone who does mean a lot to you (close friends or family perhaps) praises or criticizes something you’ve done or said, maybe take it into consideration. But never heed the empty praise (or derision) of strangers online as something truly meaningful. In the end those relationships are temporal and only exist within this life.
@A pet named Steve, hey, they've been downvoting all my stuff too! I feel like they just have something against English speakers
@A pet named Steve, so strange update, I decided to shave my head (after years of slowly losing my hair, I wanted to take control of how I look in some way), and now I weirdly have this outlet for excess heat. I can literally feel the heat leave my scalp whenever I walk around or the wind is blowing. It’s kinda strange but also kinda neat. Perhaps I won’t be quite as hot all the time anymore
@A pet named Steve, if you are worried about forgetting a heater blanket you can get one with a timer or you can buy a adapter for the plug that works as a timer ( maybe even find one that you can set cycles on so it turns itself on at night so it's already warm when you go to bed and shuts off in the morning)
edit: I found a plug on Amazon that should do the cycles for auto on/ off I'll post the link or if it doesn't work just search "programmable outlet" on Amazon.
@Sven and Otar, oh wow. I can understand that that must feel weird at first haha. But it's also kinda near that maybe you won't be a human Hester anymore ^^ just don't forget to put on a week hat when it gets cold
@Wolfbane, that's a really good idea!! Thank you. My amnesiac ass would burn to death otherwise.
@A pet named Steve, after sleeping the night like this, I think I’m still really warm as a person when the air isn’t moving. Apparently the heat only dissipates when I have flowing air around my head, whether from my own movement, or just air moving around me on it’s own.
@Sven and Otar, is that you in your profile pic?? It's gotta be. With the lightsaber and all haha. You look really good!
@A pet named Steve, thanks! I’m still getting used to it, my mental image of myself is with hair, but slowly, every time I look at myself in the mirror, I’m getting more and more used to it.
I do think on the whole I look better than I did with thinning hair. I used to have to pose myself carefully in my pics to hide it, but now every side is my good side lol
But it is nice to know the fairer sex thinks it looks decent besides my mom and my boss (who’s basically my mom at work) who really don’t count lol
@A pet named Steve, further confirmation, a housekeeper at work told me I look cute with the shaved head. I think I made the right choice
@Sven and Otar, I'm glad that you feel more comfortable with your looks now. And how awesome is it that the janitor called you cute?? I too think you made the right decision. Like I said, I think you look great. Especially in combination with that light saber.
@A pet named Steve, it was pretty nice, and thank you for your kind words, me and my lightsaber thank you. You don’t look too bad yourself:)
@A pet named Steve, I apologize if you feel that was inappropriate, I know you get propositioned quite a bit on here and I don’t mean to be rude like that
@Sven and Otar, oh don't worry! I greatly appreciate it. I know you don't mean it in a rude way ^^ so thank you :)
@A pet named Steve, good, I definitely don’t mean it that way:) I kinda figured it out you might be asleep shortly after I sent the second comment lol
As always, it’s been a pleasure:) maybe someday we can friend eachother on Discord or some such so we can chat more in depth, but until then, talk to ya next picture!
Really weird but as hairy dude, if I take a super hot shower, my arms and legs get random bursts of heat for several hours after the shower. It feels really nice like putting on clothes fresh out the dryer
I’m a dude and I like my showers hotter than the cores of stars in hell
If the shower doesn't burn, it's not hot enough.
Women like hot showers because they are used to the much warmer temperatures of Hell, where they are from.
Super hot water is bad for the skin
Just the opposite for my hubby and I. He likes to bathe in the lava flows of hells heart while i can shower in melted glacier water.
