Actually, this is not true. Dogs see in hues of blue and yellow, not black and white.

@Octain, untrue we are most entirely unsure how dogs perceive different hues of color

@Destroybot, studies have shown that dogs have some of the same series of cones in their eyes as humans do. They only have the ones for blue, yellow and certain shades of purple.

Dogs are not completely colourblind! They just can't see green and blue, so they could still see the top two colours.
