I have this with cereal. I feel like I'm becoming a dad when I regularly have my after-breakfast poop.
@Winter Diablo, It’s good to stay regular, you know? Especially when you start eating the adult cereals like raisin nut bran and special k
@Winter Diablo, do you have a lactose problem or is it just the type of cereal you eat? If I having anything other than lactose free milk, I’m on the toilet the rest of the day.
@Winter Diablo, im so glad it's not just me.
@Winter Diablo, science time! The fact that you need to poop after eating is one of the reflexes of the GI tract that keeps everything moving. In this case, it's a combination of the the gastro-ileal reflex and the gastro-colic reflex: food distending the stomach causes increased motility in the last section of the small intestine (to move whatever is left in it into the large intestine so it's clear for new food) and at the same time causes elimination (defecation) of whatever was currently occupying the large intestine so it can get to work on what's now coming its way from the small intestine.
In other words: pooping after you eat is a sign your GI tract reflexes are working and things are moving the way they're supposed to.
@Winter Diablo, update, my wife fed me a milkshake which I thought nothing of, and it took me the rest of the day to realize why I spent most of it on toilet. Good one.
Fun (surprise) fact: studies showed only 20% of coffee drinkers have to go poop after drinking coffee. I always thought it was the other way around, so how did this clichee even spread in the first way?
Lol, I only do that when I trust a fart. No coffee needed.
This happens to me with mint gum for some reason...
