I just don’t know why carbonation adds such a flavor... It’s strange to me... It’s a really noticeable and dislikable flavor lol
@LoveTheBomb137, carbon dissolved in water is bitter and gross. I totally agree. People are always so physched about sparkling water and every time I try it I'm like "I smell cranberry but I'm tasting bitter sh!t instead of cool refreshing h20"
@LoveTheBomb137, I love sparkling water!!! At the same time I didn’t grow up in this awesome country with y’all’s freaking Kool aid. When I was introduced to it at 15 I went a bit nuts
@LoveTheBomb137, CO2 in water creates an acid which is bitter in flavor
@LoveTheBomb137, carbonic acid
@LoveTheBomb137, you shut your whore mouth
@LoveTheBomb137, just shake it until it goes flat
@LoveTheBomb137, CO2 dissolved in water creates carbonic acid which immediately dissociates to bicarbonate (HCO3-) and H+. Bicarbonate, which is more commonly known as baking soda. So basically, carbonating a drink adds baking soda, a base, which is bitter.
(To whoever said the acid added is bitter, acids are generally sour – see acetic acid (vinegar) and citric acid (the sour component of oranges, grapefruit, lemons, limes, etc) – while bases are generally bitter)
If there's a pyramid behind you, you are very likely to be about 5 minutes away from a massive city.
@Jipz, there is probably a pack of tourists 100 feet away
@Jipz, they only had club soda
It’s tastes like sweaty man taint
Unpopular opinion: Sparkling water is superior and once the taste is acquired regular water no longer cuts the mustard
@Hayjamro, that is very incorrect
@The Freaking FBI, told you it was unpopular
@Hayjamro, i don’t like what you’re saying but i would die for your right to say it
@Hayjamro, if you have to acquire the taste, then it is not superior.
@iLikeBigBooks, hmmm, I don’t know, I seem to enjoy all the things I had to acquire the taste for, beer, wine, olives to name a few! Sparkling water is in that list!
@Hayjamro, have you ever heard of Stockholm Syndrome? Because that's what you're describing.
My in-laws live in Italy, sparkling water is actually cheaper out there than regular water (most people buy bottles instead of using tap, water might not be same quality as here in the states). I wasn’t into it, but wow does it grow on you when that’s the only thing you’re drinking for a week
Sparkling water tastes great when you mix it with juice. It tastes weird by itself though.
