Need to find the nearest tree to uproot to regain my man-card, don't worry I'll plant 5 more in its place
@CaptianMcKenderson, what’s not manly about an ex war dog protecting a kitten from harsh reality?
I’m glad this arrived in the afternoon, I’ve spent this morning shredding hard drives so my man-card is intact.
So, I’m allergic to dogs but not cats. Can a cat ever be a substitute for a doggo? 🤔
@Nellybert , No, they’re better
@Nellybert , no. 1 out of 10 cats can give you the companionship that 99 out of 100 dogs will give you. I've met like 1 or 2 not cool dogs in my life and have met that same number of cool cats in my life.
@Nellybert , My cat is an excellent doggo. Plays fetch, goes to the door when company knocks, etc. Gotta Find the kitten that loves you instantly (meows and follows you) adopt it and play with it regularly. It’s basically up to you on how you raise it.
@Nellybert , you have to get lucky. My sister has 2 cats that are actually doggos since they try to play with everyone including doggos
@Nellybert , There are dog breeds that are hypoallergenic. Bichons, Portuguese water dogs, poodles, shi tsus, and I think Chinese cresteds. They have coats the more closely resemble hair so they don’t make much dander, if at all. The only thing with these breeds is that you’ll have to take them to get haircuts but it’s worth it to have a doggo that doesn’t give you allergies
@Drunk Pantless Uncle, I got lucky. Somewhat anyway. Barn cat, sweetest little critter ever. Openly welcomes belly rubs, and has only scratched me a collective 2 times in her life, and both were her freaking when the doorbell rang and using her claws to run while she was laying on me. Never tries to do more than mild affection nips (bites but not even close to the pressure to break skin). She doesn’t like it when I am standing, and will run off to lay in front of whatever door she thinks I’ll use in my house to coerce me not to. She’s also rather quiet, though not as quiet as my parents cat when I was younger. And she kept her blue eyes
@Nellybert , get you a hypoallergenic dog!!! I have an American Brittany. He is hypoallergenic! I have zero allergies with him what so ever. You need a big backyard tho. They love to run and get into shenanigans
@seeUpee, How big is big? My garden is big by English town standards (couple of thousand square feet maybe) but that’s probably tiny compared to some American State averages.
@TriangleTesticles, I’ll have a look - I did some basic research in to hypoallergenic dogs, but all I found were variants on terriers. (I’m not a huge terrier fan - they’re not a bad breed, I just think of them as small & yappy, which isn’t what I’d want in a dog).
@Nellybert , he is about 45 pounds. Medium size dog. 1/4 of an acre he will do fine. I have two acres and he runs up and down it like he has ants on his butt, I can watch him all day and the bastard doesn’t get tired. He has a single coat so the hairs are not bad. But learn who the mom and dad are before getting one bc they can have really long coats and that will be a pain. They have zero issues besides ear infections that I clean his ears on the weekly bc this dog loooooooves water! I have a pool and he gets in it multiple times a day to cool off and chill
