That cameraman the real MVP
At that point, why isn’t the cameraman in the competition? He was solidly in the pack of competitors *while* lugging around a probably pretty heavy and awkward camera. If he was unburdened, he’d probably be giving the top two a literal run for their money
@Sven and Otar, yes, but who would believe him when no one is there to film it?
@Sven and Otar, so I’m a CrossFit coach and when I saw this I was shocked too. I listened to Henshaw (he’s an aerobic capacity expert), and he said the athletes on the field had been through a lot of events, and so they had a good bit of lactic acid built up in their muscles. Because of this, the camera man was able to beat them because of his lack of lactic acid constructing his muscle contractions (there’s a whole science to it that would take too long to type out). But you can’t take it way from the camera man for being that fast. That camera man also started a YouTube channel called the Buttery Bros if anyone is interested in CrossFit Games athletes. Good stuff.
@GingerSenpai, as a camera man who films events like this one our standard day of operating is 10-12 hours. Also we not only film the duration of the competition, we also take the time in between races to film b-roll or general video (gv’s) of the event.
@Sven and Otar, tbh idk why someone downvoted you. You should have top comment my friend.
@Shjtting Djcks, MrTsquared was salty apparently that my comment was doing better or was in disagreement with what I said so he downvoted
@Sven and Otar, these guys prolly got a good 60 lbs on him and already did other workouts if its one of those crossfit things AND he's also paid for this so he gotta be fast af
What the cameraman is doing is very impressive, yes. Running that fast is difficult, and holding a big camera like that while running is even more difficult, plus keeping a steady shot the whole time is even more difficult. Yes, he has a rig to steady the camera, but the rig only gets rid of the shake. It doesnt keep the camera pointed at a subject, and it doesn’t keep the subject framed up properly.
BUT.... this cameraman is NOT running as fast or faster than the athletes, as it may appear. If you look, he starts ahead of the athletes, and finishes behind them. So they’re definitely running significantly faster than him..... so while this is all incredibly impressive, the cameraman isn’t necessarily a better athlete than the actual athletes here
@MrTsquared, why not reply with your disagreements instead of downvoting man? That’s kinda shjtty to shoot another commenter’s comment in the foot like that. I rarely downvote anyone because I know how stupidly overweighted those are, there are simply more sportsmanlike ways of airing grievances here
@MrTsquared, I bet you did that single finger between the eyes push your glasses up thing before you wrote that comment. Don't lie
@Sven and Otar, I only downvoted you just now cause I thought it would be funny ☹️
@Sven and Otar, I downvoted because this video is a repost on here. I saw the same vid on here a few months back. Don’t want downvotes? Post better, more original content 🤷🏻♂️
@Not him again, I absolutely did. I don’t even wear glasses, but my know-it-all senses took over. I uttered the word “ackchually” to myself, and then got to typing!
@Snarfel Burger, it was! 👍🏻
@MrTsquared, I think he was referring to downvoting his comment
@Patamon, I didn’t downvote his comment until he complained about it. You complain about downvotes? Congrats. I’m gonna give you more downvotes
......... or maybe I did downvote first? I don’t remember. But I explained why the cameraman isn’t quite as good as the athletes here, which goes against his comment, soooo downvote. And the fact that he complained about being downvoted tells me that I was right to downvote him
@MrTsquared, I wasn't complaining or trying to start anything. I was just informing you as you seemed to have misunderstood what he was referring to
Aren’t those guys like 230lbs.
@x2 6x 9 lol, easily
The camera was on tracks you twits
@stevepaige, one of them is, yes.
Red circle actually useful this time, would ya look at that
I'm pretty sure both sides are actual footage.
Its just a camera on a rope
