Why should someone have to be a fanatic to simply enjoy a brand? I get hassled a lot for wearing my Queen shirt. Usually they ask, “were you even alive when queen was around?” How is that a relevant to enjoying their music.
“Were you alive when Abe Lincoln emancipated the sh*t out of America? Then how dare you enjoy a nation free of slavery!!” -some ridiculous a-hole
@BiteMyShinyMetalA55, because everyone has to be ‘cool and original’. I have a holocaust T-shirt, what could they say, I didn’t get the shirt there! Wtffff
@BiteMyShinyMetalA55, while i do think if you wear a band tee you should know the band and their music (see the nirvana t-shirt meme), you definitely dont need to be alive during the bands big years. This coming from a 90's baby who's heart lives in 80's rock music. Thats the beauty of music, it transcends time
@BiteMyShinyMetalA55, I used to work at a bar and the old alcoholic men would call me out when I sang a song from the 70s or 80s because I’m just not supposed to know music from before I was born or something. Always super irritating
@BiteMyShinyMetalA55, ikr, fyckin gatekeepers everywhere
@BiteMyShinyMetalA55, which is why I don't attend any fandoms because I know I will encounter some of these bastàrds and be kicked out in a jiffy
@BiteMyShinyMetalA55, Oh, you're a Queen fan? QUICK who was the first Queen that Henry VIII executed?
@BiteMyShinyMetalA55, I've been asked "do you like those bands? you're pretty young." stuff like that. Hell yeah I like 60s rock
I don't like that he's wearing a Superman shirt
