So read up on the Christmas Truce of 1914, I can't help but think how fvcked it is to try and be friends with your enemies and then later on continuing to shoot them on sight.
@MrWonka, if I remember correctly, I think all sides actually received reinforcements, and the original units were relocated because they didn't want to do exactly that. So, HQ brought in new people to kill new people, and the old units were split up so they could kill people they didn't know.
Yeah, it's as fvcked as it sounds, but that's war. I mean, could you even imagine taking to other people, respecting your differences, and NOT killing each other because your nation leaders are trying to screw over other nations?
Absolute madness, really.
Joyeux Noel, anyone?
@ptitty1231, my favorite Christmas movie, I watch it every year.
@ptitty1231, Nope, care to explain?
@MI5, it's a "christmas movie" because it's the story of the 1914 christmas truce during WWI. On christmas day, after all the fighting, they got out of their trenches and began to just hang out with the other "enemies". What started as just allowing all sides to retrieve their dead, turned into soccer matches. Literally soccer. With people you had been shooting at for the past several days.
It's a touching, but someone depressing story. People in a war treating each other as people, not "the enemy". Sure, their countries were fighting, but they weren't.
Really representative of the employees tho...
The guy in the top pic looks like he's on fire
