Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy. I haven’t seen this movie in ages
@Thane of Deez, 42
@Thane of Deez, because it sucked. Pity, because the books are so good.
@I Are Lebo, I can forgive that movie for quite a bit because Zooey Deschanel.
@Neil Dylandy, hey, parts of that movie were good. It wasn’t the actor’s faults that the movie sucked. That blame falls on the director and editor.
I like Zoey. And Alan Rickman was great as Marvin.
@I Are Lebo, I enjoyed it mostly for the cast, but I can see what you mean. They tried to cram in elements from the other books, from what I remember. Alan Rickman was always great in everything, may he rest in peace.
@I Are Lebo, I never read the first book (I read books 2 and 3 and enjoyed them) but I also really enjoyed the movie, it’s one of my all time favorites. Probably just because I grew up with it though...
@Im Bo Yo, I think the books followed a parabolic arc in terms of quality. 3 was the best, with 2 and 4 being close but not as good. 1 was a little slow and I thought 5 had both a disappointing start and a disappointing conclusion.
I’m still rather miffed by how So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish (book 4) introduced a great new character in Fenchurch, and then Mostly Harmless (book 5) killed her off ‘off-screen’ in between the books.
They’re still brilliant books, though. I consider Douglas Adams to be one of the 21st Centuries greatest academic minds. His argument against intelligent design remains one of my favourite syllogisms, and he had so many marvellous quotes.
I on the other hand find it hilarious.
I miss Alan Rickman...
They’d better do something on the 42nd anniversary of this film
It's kinda crazy the differences between the movie and the book series, I just finished reading the series for the 3rd time and it's basically two completely different sources
