“Earn” by “Donating”... um yea that’s not how donations work. That’s selling.
@tichenord, it is if they pay you less than what they took
@tichenord, Yes but if they tell students to sell their blood to pay for books then someone might realize there's something wrong.
@tichenord, ive done this and thats what i used to say all the time. I would correct the workers at the "donation center". when they asked if i was there to donate i would say "no id rather just sell it, i need to buy groceries this week"
@tichenord, does it honestly matter? Plasma donation can help save lives. Plus, generally I’ve seen it’s $50 per session they pay you, and you can go at least once a week in most cases, as opposed to blood donation which it’s once a month.
Donating plasma was my beer money
@seeUpee, Donating plasma is my beer money
@Doctor Bees, its extra nice because when you dont have any plasma you get drunk way faster
That's the state of everyone's area 51 alien after many nights of clapping cheeks and subsequently moving on to the next hotness
Except I’m pretty sure you can only donate plasma once every other week, so you have to spend the entire summer donating plasma to buy one book.
@NotFlat, Nah you can easily donate twice, even three times a week if you're able.
@NotFlat, no you can do it twice a week. The company I did it with have me $70 a week for it. It was a pretty good gig.
@Doctor Bees, that doesn’t seem safe, but youre the doctor, so what do I know?
@Quoth the Revan, I’ve been thinking about selling my plasma, but I keep wimping out. Any advice?
@Naberrie, honestly it wasn't really worth the money to me. You can work like 2-3 hours at a part time gig and get paid the same.
@dj evolve fan club, Waaat. Just made this joke today. Cool nips!
$50 for plasma. Shït I’ll just donate sperm and get $200.
Or donate an egg and get $25,000
@NameyMcNameFace, aw yes, give em the old one-two.
Technically it is illegal to sell biological materials without the proper FDA licence. Plasma centers slip through a little loophole by calling it a compensation for time. So you donate your plasma. And they pay you for the time it took out of your day to do so. If you were actually selling it you would make way more as a single unit of plasma is worth five to eight hundred dollars
In the UK we don’t get paid
Fun fact, that billboard is actually outside the apartment I was living in up until last year
Donating plasma was my drug money back when things weren’t too good for me lol
You won't get me this time, vampires.
I mean, when the cost of my textbooks was equivalent to 1-3 classes, let's just say I'd rather look like the inbred child of a naked mole rat and sphinx cat coming off a 3 day LSD binge than be broke.
