Doesn't that mean the eat each other?
@CJWJ, some species of ant are in fact cannibals to other subspecies that colonize nearby
@CJWJ, yeah that’s the sick part disgusting creatures
@CJWJ, They likely wouldn’t eat each other but rather eat other types of ants. The ultimate invasive species.
@CJWJ, cool story actually, there was a pipe the worker ants would often fall from and 99/100 of the time die. The 1/100 wouldn't be able to get back up and survived by eating the dead around them. After some researchers found them they put in a ladder for the lost ants to get home by
That's a whole lot of nope!
Really neat story actually. A colony of woodcutter ants made a home inside a drain pipe to a bunker, and when going up for food, some would fall down the pipe and get trapped in the lower area, which was simply a cement box they couldn't climb They would survive by eating the dead around them, or killing other ants that fell. The researchers that found them put a 2x4 in the pipe to let the canabikistic ants return to colony, and they noticed that they reintegrated with no issues, or violence.
If a million cannibal ants escaped, how many were locked in there to begin with... ten million?
Is this the beginning of Fallout
Everyone calls me Ant as a nickname. Oh no. OH GOD NO.
