The first one was never planned, even if the look of Sonic was different, there was zero rendered emotions on the first one, like this pic alone there's frowning, arms are proper, he seems slouched back in surprise. It just seemed more just for the general positioning of Sonic in the real world. Idk. Using negative press purposely seems common nowadays.

@k1ngs4ndm4n, that's why I'm pretty certain it was something they had early on into development, and used it as a trailer a year before release, then immediately sid 'Oh will listen to the fans and remodel', when really they were close to done with the remodel, it takes like 6months by itself for rendering using render farms. You cant rewrite/conceptualize/model/render a whole movie with cg/real blend in a year. None of that timeline makes sense. CG takes forever. But I'd love to be corrected, and find out how the fvck they did it.

@RomeoStealYoGurl, 6 months to render what? The less than 3 minute trailer? That simply isn't true if it was an animated movie at an hour and a half would take 15 years to render, in all reality what we saw in that trailer is all they had done and rendered, corridor crew on YouTube talks about it in their vfx artist react series you should check it out

@TheFunniestPics, I can understand that but there is no way that it would take then that long to render, dont get me wrong it's not instantaneous but if it would take them 6 months to render a movie they would have started in July which would only give them 2 months to redesign and replace not only the character model for sonic but also all the other effects they had to fix
We must all see it to thank them for actually listening to us and making it better.
