We must all see it to thank them for actually listening to us and making it better.
@Nurse Joy, Exactly, this movie must make upwards of $500m domestically otherwise we have failed the people who wanted to do right by us.
@Nurse Joy, I've wondered if maybe they made a bad sonic just so people would be mad about it and they would change it later just so would talk about the movie and say how the studio listened to the audience. Some type of plan so we all would kinda look forward to it. Idk maybe I'm just crazy.
In all fairness or was just horrid
@Codeine, It was beautiful before the change, you nerds just dont know when to stop.
@Doctor Bees, ok boomer
To my understanding, the animators are always creative and smart enough to understand when something’s ugly. It’s usually the director or producer who steps in and tells them to change things to his own liking.
What y'all dont understand is that at the time of the trailers release, the only vfx and cgi done was probably exactly what we saw in the trailer, so the only obvious choice would be to re design.
Good lord! What idiot approved the first design?
@Unitard, the thing is it would have been minimum 10 people in the design process. What baffles me that it got approved.
They should release the first version as a draft directorate cut special ed. With a coupon yo watch the final draft at theaters near you!
Yall should see the rwby fanbase wanna talk about bullying
looks good now though
I’m glad they changed it. I wouldn’t have been able to watch the movie without thinking he looks terrible the entire time. There’s no way I would’ve enjoyed it. He was just creepy looking before.
Sometimes the ends justify the means
Companies bow down to 1 SJW. The whole internet contesting is fair.
Oh no the poor studio execs feeling sad in their baths full of 100 dollar bills getting fitted for their solid gold butt plugs because the internet pointed out that their product sucks
The first one was never planned, even if the look of Sonic was different, there was zero rendered emotions on the first one, like this pic alone there's frowning, arms are proper, he seems slouched back in surprise. It just seemed more just for the general positioning of Sonic in the real world. Idk. Using negative press purposely seems common nowadays.
@RomeoStealYoGurl, no they tried for a weird anthropomorphic photorealistic version because they thought that's what we wanted, if that wasnt the final model it never would have made it to the trailer within a year of release
@k1ngs4ndm4n, that's why I'm pretty certain it was something they had early on into development, and used it as a trailer a year before release, then immediately sid 'Oh will listen to the fans and remodel', when really they were close to done with the remodel, it takes like 6months by itself for rendering using render farms. You cant rewrite/conceptualize/model/render a whole movie with cg/real blend in a year. None of that timeline makes sense. CG takes forever. But I'd love to be corrected, and find out how the fvck they did it.
@k1ngs4ndm4n, my point is I suppose, they've been in development since 2014, and all they needed to redesign is an extra 3months from the original November date, to the now february Date.
@RomeoStealYoGurl, 6 months to render what? The less than 3 minute trailer? That simply isn't true if it was an animated movie at an hour and a half would take 15 years to render, in all reality what we saw in that trailer is all they had done and rendered, corridor crew on YouTube talks about it in their vfx artist react series you should check it out
@RomeoStealYoGurl, principle photography ended in late 2018 they've only been working on it maybe a year
@k1ngs4ndm4n, Maybe he meant the whole movie takes that long to render. If they changed up the model and had to re-render the scene it would take an extra 6 months? That's what I thought he said...
@TheFunniestPics, I can understand that but there is no way that it would take then that long to render, dont get me wrong it's not instantaneous but if it would take them 6 months to render a movie they would have started in July which would only give them 2 months to redesign and replace not only the character model for sonic but also all the other effects they had to fix
