@Guy Fawkes, in the NHL there are fights regularly. In baseball people have charged the mound. Theres a difference between running up to someone in the street and smacking them with a motorcycle helmet and this. They're not taking away his "games" they're taking away his job... the QB could press charges but hes choosing not to. Do you know anything about the situation?

@spelcheck , most people who i know that watch hockey, myself included. Do so for the fights. The gmae is secondary. They also tend to not get out of control beyond the initial blows And there is no difference in those two cases of assualt that you just mentiond. If the other guy had simply thrown punches at the man then i wouldnt give a single shít. But its a whole different level of escalation to hit someone in the most vulnerable area of the human body with a solid object like a helmet. And im well aware thats how they make money, they make money to throw a fvcking ball. More than enough money to encourage you to be a good sport. And no i dont know the ins and outs, but i havent said anything regarding the fine details of the situation. Because baseline is that he escalated a situation beyond a point that most people deem acceptable. And so you mean to tell me that you think its a reasonable punishment essentially give him a vacation? I doubt he needs that money anyway.

@Guy Fawkes, not every nfl player makes tens of millions of dollars a year and has a ton of endorsements some guys like him only make maybe 500,000 a year and yes that’s a lot of money but when u play a rough sport like football your career might only last a few years without injury and if u do get injured it might only be 1 year so u have to make that money last the rest of your life whereas someone like me that works construction I might make 100,000 a year but my career can last up to 30 years so in a lifetime I’m making more then him and I have a pension and annuity and all that but he has that salary and that’s it so when he retires he has nothing except the money he made so a lot of athletes make ridiculous amounts of money but there r a decent amount who really don’t make much and don’t have any other skills to fall back on cause they dedicated their whole life to their sport

@spelcheck , ok so if i understand it correctly. If i assault a man in my place of work, then not only should i not be charged criminally, but then i should just be sent home for a few weeks after which i can come back without any kind of serious repremands? Yeah im the ignorant one for applying that set precedent to all situations.

@Guy Fawkes, u r because not every situation is the same where do u work like I said I work construction I’ve seen fights on jobs I’ve fought a guy on the job nobody got in trouble but if u work in maybe an office type job you’d get in a lot of trouble if u weren’t ignorant you’d realize that not every case is the same

@sgc6610, were you swinging fists or were you throwing bricks at eachother? If you threw a punch and he hit you with a hardhat would you still feel the same way? Thats why i said had they just thrown punches this would be completely irrelevant. Its not just a fight anymore once you use an implement to cause harm (an implement like a helmet). People fight all the time, its healthy to get it out. But once you start allowing people to escalate a fight beyond the healthy outlet it becomes more dangerous than beneficial. "Im ignorant because not every situation is the same". ive pointed out the exact reasons that i believe this was worse than other "fights" that ive seen. All youve brought to the table was "youre wrong and dumb bye bye".

@sgc6610, i only mentioned hard hat as a direct reference and comparison to the helmet. Ive been "turtle fvcked" many a time haha so i understand. And so would you not agree that the guy who was trying to attack people with a hammer shouldve been fired? Or that the guy who beat the the carpenter shouldve been jailed? And thats even acknowledging that both of those instances are far worse than this fight.
for those of you who “DoNt WaTcH tHe SpOrTs BaLl” this was from a game last Thursday between the rival Steelers and browns. Myles Garrett (the guy in the orange) tackled the Mason Rudolph (helmetless guy) after the play ended and wouldn’t get off of him. There was a scrum and he ripped his helmet off. Afterwards, he swung that helmet and hit the guy on his head. He’s suspended for the remainder of the season and possibly part of next season.
