My school was the opposite. They would spend so much extra time trying to teach things to the dumb kids that I would sit there bored out of my mind having already finished my homework for the day.
@Bobaganusche88, This is why I’m glad my hometown school district has a middle school school specifically for the gifted students. After K-4 if you pass the criteria to be gifted they put you in one middle school while the rest go to two other middle schools (my district starts middle school in 5th grade for those that are confused). It’s nice because you avoid situations like that and it also lowers tensions since you won’t get jealousy occurring over intelligence
@Bobaganusche88, I feel like this closer to the norm than the meme
@TriangleTesticles, I see you didn't get into the school school
Unpopular opinion: sometimes, after trying to help someone over and over teachers get discouraged, so instead of focusing on achieving acceptable from some they like to help good students achieve the exceptional.
@Tytinn, what about helping the other 90% of the class? Why does it have to be about those two?
@Tytinn, unpopular reply: there job is to teach everyone not just the ones who are failing or succeeding.
@Codeine, as a teacher, most of the time the entire class is held back by the 10% that are reading 3-5 grade levels behind everyone else.
@pawn of life, As a teacher, you should use *their. Job accomplished.
@jabopples, as a student can confirm. But that should solve itself next year when everyone goes to part time because they can't handle it
@Codeine, what do you mean?
@jabopples, the *ahem* slow people, in my class, are all talking about going part time next year so they can work or simply go at a slower pace.
Which will give myself and the other students a chance to really excel as there will be like 25 left across the two classes
@Codeine, Ah gotcha. Honestly that would help a lot.
@jabopples, oh it will. There's one person that slips the class to ask questions so stupid the teachers stop dead in their tracks just to comprehend it.
And I'm studying building design, to become a draftsperson, so the entire course is centered around a computer, yet this person is barely computer literate, and cant understand file extensions, let alone 3d BIM software.
Sorry for the rant but I'm on holidays now so it's all about working and getting some coin
I'm a teacher and for those of us trying our best, this job is more taxing and challenging than you can imagine.
@ARGluck, my wife is a teacher and I couldn't agree more with you. The problem isn't the teachers, it's the system. Teachers are severely underpaid for the amount of work they do in and out of class. Schools change curriculums all the time which requires teachers to constantly have to adapt and create lesson plans, slides, and classroom management. I wish the doodle-heads running the school system would wake up and make things for the teachers, but they were probably the students who fell behind and blamed it on the teachers. You are a great teacher. Rant over.
@Magnifico, haha I'm with you on that one
@ARGluck, Same here. The biggest problem is you have 5% of the class that are GATE identified, 15% are good students, 50% follow a similar pacing, 20% need a little more time and help, and 10% are English learners, students with special needs, and kids that can't read 4 letters words in the 8th grade.
We do our best but people have no clue of the needs inside modern classrooms, it is shocking. The struggling kids often need far more than we can give
*students who "need" help, but are jerks who don't do their homework, spend class time on their phones, and call the teacher a bitch during class.
We should abolish schools
@robee, brilliant idea! Send them to the factories! That’ll solve population issues too.
@robee, then who would’ve taught you how to use the word abolish you dumb ass?
@Bad Suggestions, now you're thinking with communism
@lil red rascal, why use lot word when few do trick?
@robee, actually...*whispers*- sarcasm...
@Bad Suggestions, *whispers but slightly louder*
@robee, thanks Pinkman.
@Bad Suggestions, science b*tch
You get what you fvcking deserve!
@Banetersaurus Rex, seriously, maybe if they weren't such unmotivated fvcks, they could actually achieve something for once in their lives
we should just let kids advance at their own pace. who cares if some kids are moving faster than others, bringing all the kids down to the level of the struggling kids helps nobody. just like bringing down the level of the rich to the poor helps nobody.
Same thing as students that try hard and succeed and students that are lazy fücks bound to live with their parents until their late 20’s when they are kicked out and have to go work at a fast food place and complain about how no one ever helped them.
Guessing this person also believes guns shoot themselves and Anna Nicole Smith married for love. #Idiot
