You could replace that with old garbage and the reaction would be the same, dogs are just happy to be involved
Dogs always give 100%.
My dog was fussy with food. We ended up spending a fortune buying different food untill he actually ate one of them..
@Tis but a scratch, I had one like that. I gave her no choice and eventually she got hungry enough. She wouldn't eat anything dude or sucked
@Mantis Tobaggan, no animal will willingly starve itself. I did the same thing, put the food down gave him an hour to eat. He decided not to eat he had to wait till dinner or till breakfast. A couple weeks of that he ate every meal without hesitation
@Natural Sarcasm , This is a great idea, my family has always been in the habit of just filling up a bowl for the dogs to eat on all day, but my girl is extremely picky. She'll eat just barely enough to survive if she doesn't like the food, and end up looking like a skeleton until we cave and fatten her up on chicken and pork.
@KermitSmash, I always recommend regulated meal times. Keeps them slimmer as well as having predictable bathroom times. Plus it helps the vet when they ask about lifestyles and quantity fed
@KermitSmash, oh and another thing you could do it take the dog for a long walk. Not at a leisurely pace though, it’s a work out fast pace walk/jog. Exercise makes anything super hungry. Less picky when you’re extra hungry
@Natural Sarcasm , I'll do that, we've gotten in the habit of taking it easy on her on walks because she can't afford to burn the extra calories. I've never tried to give her a good workout.
