Gonna be honest, I’ve never played the Witcher 3. I am interested but I’m hesitant to get it because I’m not 100% sure if I’ll get into gameplay wise. My question is, how does it compare to games that I do enjoy like God of War, Tomb Raider, Horizon Zero Dawn, Uncharted etc.?

@ThorOdinnson, Combat is fun, not mind-blowingly deep but fun and entertaining. Definitely adds to the game and is satisfying. I’d compare it to assassins creed style the most. But dude, the story alone makes it worth it

@ThorOdinnson, it's like assassin's creed meets arkhum asylum. Lots of hitting the same button over again with a dodge and a parry button. There's a slight magic system to use too but it's nothing particularly deep and is like a sub weapon almost. The game is fun if you give it some time. People talk about how great the tutorial area is but i found it incredibly boring and i bounced off it hard the first time i tried to play it. Once the game introduces the fun slavic monsters and you start to find gear sets it's fun. I'd recommend checking it out with the caveat you have to wait to get to the good part.

@ThorOdinnson, It's incredible. If you enjoy story driven RPGs it can't be missed. No, nothing is perfect but its a top 10 game all time for me. It has no puzzles like in the games you listed though.

I enjoyed the witcher (show) but I didn't enjoy the time jumps in it. That said it's got nothing on the mandalorian, the most recent episode was even directed by taika waititi, the director of thor ragnarok. Big fan of taika

Meanwhile I’m out here not watching any of this new stuff, but instead rewatching episodes of Futurama for the 90th time...
