@theboatandcarman, well with the amount of weight on there I would say it’s really not doing much...a band does tho increase its resistance as it stretches making the end range part of the lift the hardest with the band on. It’s also one of the hardest parts of the lift at end range due to length tension relationships of the muscle so I guess it adds a little extra something during that time
@theboatandcarman, it gives a bit of tension to and from. When the bar goes down, he has to concentrate and make the bar fall steady as the band will make it fall faster. And he pushes the bar up, the band will resist but depending on the band, the last 30% of the push can be harder and this will give the muscle more concentration and tension. It's another formation. Instead of putting more weight, add a band.
