Spite is the best human trait we have.
@DRAGONSHEART2018, I feel like your forgetting pettiness
@BigJohnson86, close second place
Why tf would you ban bags? Like what else are students supposed to do besides stuff like this?
@Xenn, Binders. The school district I work at doesn't allow backpacks in the classroom, so they need to go in lockers. I'm gonna guess that's the case here, and the headline is just trying to be sensational.
@TheKen42, many new schools are being built without lockers. What then?
@Xenn, apparently this is in the UK. They want students to carry the books they need between lessons. Its because "injuries were being caused to younger students" because of "ever larger bags"
Its a bit confusing since the article seems to say the school didnt allow bags previously for years 7 to 11 and now its a big deal cuz they started included year 6 in it. So this kid brought a microwave and a wicker basket to carry his stuff saying its not a bag.
@occasionalmutant, I can't say. All I know is what happens locally, and to never take an internet article at face value.
@Xenn, I believe such bans came down after Columbine.
@SaintBeardMan, I can understand the injuries part, My brother didn't hit any growth spurts until highschool and had to carry 6 huge ass books when he already had a back injury and was wearing a back brace in 6th grade.
He was pissed when we got laptops when I started middle school
@Xenn, I didn’t use one. I carried all of my books and supplies in one arm.
This rule still strikes me as obnoxious and useless, however.
It is apparently because they mix younger and older students and the younger ones would be hit when the older ones moved with their large bags.
@Ewok612, that's why you have different parts of the school for the older kids and the younger kids? Or have slightly different passing periods so they don't walk around at the same time.
@Xenn, Get blamed for not having their things with them.
@Xenn, my school did that for middle schoolers. They said it stunted growth (like carrying the books without a bag was any better) and that it was less of a fire hazard not having them on the floor in the classroom
@Xenn, at my old high school we couldn't carry bags because someone got caught with a gun, but obviously the school has never heard of pockets
This kid must be jacked cuz microwaves are heavy af. And like weird weight distribution
America is worst than 3rd world countries. It really is. They need a hard reset.
@hasher2288, that's not even America, nice try.
@JoeJoestar, my statement still stands. I said what I said.
@hasher2288, Ah, yes, America. Where we give people equal rights instead of treating certain people as property. Where women can acuse someone of rape, and instead of stoning them to death, we take it rather seriously. Where if you get a cut on your hand you can just shrug instead of having to write out your will because you'll likely die of a minor infection. So much worse than the third world sh!tholes around the world.
@Ze Grammar Nazi, America is a crap country.
@hasher2288, Can you actually elaborate? Or are you incapable of actually giving facts? By all metrics, America is, if not THE best, one of the best countries to live in. You have the ability to find work around almost every corner. You have food for miles. People have the ability to speak their mind (for the most part) without the fear of government retribution. In what way is America a "crap country." I'd really like to know. And don't give me the 'america bad', 'orange man bad', 'guns bad' bullcrap. I've heard it a million times.
@Ze Grammar Nazi, tldr. USA sucks.
He thought of a microwave instead of a box, or carrying them in a jumper?
