They’re good bills bront
This is fake. I spent nearly two months in Japan last year and never saw this type of yen. Anything below ¥1000 is on a coin, and unless this was some type of special one-time commemorative currency it's not real.
@Sexy Homunculus, must you ruin the fun
@Sexy Homunculus, there are ¥500 bills they're just really rare and are like a $2 bills in the U.S. the Japanese government stopped printing them in 1994 so they're most likely gonna be part of people's collection and not in everyday circulation.
@Theguydownunder, Interesting, I didn't know that. Are they still considered legal tender? If they're 26 years old I'd be surprised if they're even still readable, unless they're preserved by a collector or museum.
@Sexy Homunculus, yeah if you went to a Japanese 7/11 and handed one to the cashier they'd probably do a double take but would have to take it. You might run into some trouble trying buy something from a vending machine with it though
@Theguydownunder, $2 bills aren’t really rare, they still make them everyday. They just seem rare because people don’t like to use them since 2 is weird for math and most cash registers don’t have a spot for them. Heck when you withdraw money from a bank you can ask for it in 2’s and they will give it that way and vending machines are coded to take 2’s as well. It’s an issue of demand instead of supply.
@TriangleTesticles, it was the closest analogy I could make to a ¥500 bill in Japan. Idk a $0.50 coin?
@Sexy Homunculus, Just to cut through the numismatics...Dude says they're a 3 dollar bill. That's different than rare.
Hi frands, I'm from Japan and can confirm that this was done by an artist, but isn't actual money (unfortunately)
It's physical Doge coin
I would never spend my money if it had this cute of a dog on it
Master race shiba
It's funny because floofs aren't often on currency. But they are on these currencies.
This kind of stuff is why average Japanese people hate weebs.
I vote we do like Japan do.
Their bark sounds like a little bitch though
Japan wins the money contest.
