Or they realize it's a movie and nothing they are seeing is real, no one is suffering, no one is in actual pain, just acting and special effects.
I think the people that can't differentiate between fiction and reality are psychopaths.
@ShogunDamon, I can usually sleep pretty well after watching a horror movie or something and an alarming amount of stuff that this talked about applies to me. Of course I also don’t have a problem distinguishing between reality and fiction either so it could be either or.
@ShogunDamon, maybe I'm just dead inside and don't care about anything anymore, regardless of the emotional or mental toll it takes on me.
@ShogunDamon, Another thing is that people constantly confuse and demonize psychopaths with sociopaths. There is a big difference between the two. And being a sociopath doesnt necessarily make you a bad person by default. Just like having XXY chromosomes doesnt automatically make you a serial killer. Everyone wants to be amateur psychologists without taking the time to actually take a few courses. Or worse, they toom one semester back in highschool and feel as if that qualifies them to diagnose the world. Smh.
@ShogunDamon, something a psychopath would say...
@ShogunDamon, no those are schizophrenics
@ShogunDamon, until the movie hits you with that “based on real life events” tag, then everything just hits the fan
@ShogunDamon, wait, so you’re trying to tell me that little girl didn’t come out of the tv and kill those people? ....ok, whatever you say bud.
@ShogunDamon, thank you for saying it. It’s why I love them and am going to school to work with the effects and tech behind the scenes of movies
"According to psychologists"
Like, multiple studies that have been peer-reviewed and cross-examined over several years?
Or one hypothesis provided by a psychologist interviewed by Buzzfeed?
@SimonPetrikov, probably the latter. It’s not exactly difficult to hypothesize that people with certain characteristics enjoy certain types of entertainment. Next they’ll do a study showing that most people who like romantic comedies are woman, shocker
@SimonPetrikov, I just post them cause people enjoy them. I don't check them myself.
@SimonPetrikov, maybe I should become some type of doctor so I can say "according to doctors" before everything I say
@SimonPetrikov, most likely “according to psychologists” means “according to a random meme somebody reposted on Facebook that I was too lazy to check sources on so it’s probably true”
@Legofreak5555, maybe you should
@Crazy phrog, I should do alot of things.
I do not believe any of this because I hate horror movies and don't sleep well at all but the rest of it still applies to me. Maybe...The internet isn't always right. Well Ragga Fragga everybody and a happy orthodontist to you.
Studies have also shown that if u murder ppl u r potentially a murderer
The only horror movie that ever genuinely horrified me was Don't Breathe. There's a scene in that movie where the female protagonist is captured and tied up by the guy she was trying to rob, and he then filled a turkey baster with his own semen and tried to forcefully impregnate her with that.
He failed to do so after her friend came in and saved her (while in the process also sticking the cum-filled baster in the assailant's mouth), but that whole sequence where he tried to inseminate her that way made me sick to my stomach.
@Sexy Homunculus, someone will ask for sauce, and more upsetting than that is that you’ve already give them the title, yet they will still ask.
So you're saying I should watch horror movies every night before bed until I'm desensitized by it and that will help me deal with reality?
Obviously I love horror movies and can sleep soundly afterwards but I don't have the physical pain tolerance. As soon as I get a bad stomach ache, I'm already praying for help.
I watch horror movies for fun, but I can’t sleep well unless I watch a Disney Princess movie after.
I love horror movies, my friends and I just rewatched Evil Dead
Idk if this is from an accurate source but I can say that this all applies to me so it’s true from my perspective. The opposing side (unable to watch scary movies, low pain tolerance etc) can be fairly applied to my boyfriend.
Maybe they're just used to more realistic tragedies and horrors, so watching artificial ones dont stick as much as their reality.
What about people who sleep peacefully after watching porn?
I can confirm this.
Gee I’ve never felt so complemented .. thanx !
I’m more afraid about the state of our souls and the prophetic time we’re in than some jump scare of some irrational ugly woman
@whatthefrank, More tin foil hat waving there mate? Have you been taking your meds? Frank what did nurse Ratchet say about taking your meds?
This looks fun! Let me try!
According to psychologists, kids who play with hot wheels grow up to be the best drivers.
"They are more rational and calm when it comes to violent or griefs like accident." Quite the wordsmith.
