Off topic: I find myself filled with so much rage at the mentality of people I run into online, I already dropped facebook, I barely read comments on anything anymore, I kind of honestly want to just never use the internet ever again. Anyone else feel this way sometimes?
@Muscular Rooster, and people will say to get off the internet if you're so sensitive as an excuse to be assholes. It is definitely good to take breaks from the internet
@Muscular Rooster, Every. Single. Day. I went as far as to deactivate my Facebook account and uninstalled other apps. I thought it was bad before but the pandemic and all the stress from everything about not knowing if you can pay rent, buy food, ending in the hospital or dead has pushed the toxicity and vitriol to a whole new level.
It seems like everywhere I look online, someone is having a flame war, this place included.
It's really sad nowadays.
@Funny Pics Janitor, I haven't been on Facebook in almost 1.5 years I keep it only to use messenger to talk to my best man who's lived in Australia since 07
@Muscular Rooster, what tjadam61 said, it's good to take breaks. The internet gives people the bravery to be assholes and they create this cesspool of hate. If you can't be offline for extended periods of time, cut off the areas where you get irritated the most to lessen the mental strain. I hope you find places that aren't toxic because there's many things that are enjoyable, as well as meeting great people.
@Muscular Rooster, I quit Facebook along time ago, also the news... never been happier, ignorance really is bliss.
@Muscular Rooster, this is gonna sound mean dude, but you gotta learn to laugh and let stuff go. I’ve been there. Being angry all the time just hurts when you run out of reasons. Laugh it off and let it go. I know that sounds like asshole talk but it is very helpful for your mind
@Gallchobhair, I don't take it as you being an asshole. I know I do need to let stuff slide off my back more. My job is Code Enforcement so the pandemic has put people on edge and pissy and then they see me coming up to the door and I just get yelled at. Prior to the pandemic I rarely had to deal with aggressive people. I think its just a combi of getting yelled at while at work, then going online to see a ton of hate and vitriol. I think I might just start weekends off the internet.
@Muscular Rooster, yes and it's mostly due to the anti-science crowd.
@Muscular Rooster, “everybody is on drugs” - Motto for 2020
@Muscular Rooster, that sounds gut wrenching man. I hope you find a way to vent and get better
@Muscular Rooster, That's honestly why this is my most used social app. Not as much salt on here. Not to say there isn't any salt, but I feel like it's kept to a minimum.
@Muscular Rooster, yeah. I stopped using Facebook a while ago. Like 1-2 months ago. Although I often find myself kinda bored on my phone, I also noticed my mental health is worlds better.
@Muscular Rooster, I refuse to be Facebook friends with a lot of people I know simply because they don’t seem to know when not to talk politics. I don’t mind a political debate, but these guys will take literally every opportunity to post something attacking the political party they don’t support (regardless of whether it’s actually their fault or not) and I seriously don’t need to hear that s**t all the time.
@Muscular Rooster, sometimes!?
@Muscular Rooster, actually ran into someone on reddit yesterday that made me beyond pissed. He had some sort of superiority thing going on, claimed the post should be removed (the rule he posted didn't even say the context of the post wasn't allowed), refused to give any other evidence or argument other than "it should be removed because I say so", griped about being attacked for his "unpopular opinion", and kept claiming my account was a throwaway account (I've been on reddit less than a year, and it's my only account). I asked him why he thought that and he just said "it clearly is"
What a waste of air.
@Muscular Rooster, I don't have any type of social media account, and my Facebook's been off or deactivated for about 7 years now. I was like 20 when I started seeing all those social medias things pointless, I still sort of do.
@Muscular Rooster, I realized about a month ago how distracting all social medias are. I decided that they were making me care about things that I really shouldn't care about and just generally manufacturing stuff for me to worry about. After getting rid of everything but sms, life has been much simpler.
That's just men's soccer. Woman's soccer is absolutely brutal; they don't give a fvck
@The Lifeguard, also Irish soccer, people die lol
@The Lifeguard, this is true! Look at the US Women’s Team, most of them were so dinged up they had to complete the awards ceremony on one knee!
@The Lifeguard, as a somewhat big soccer fan, can 1,000% confirm. After what I’ve seen in the US and Mexican woman’s soccer leagues, Women’s soccer might as well be gladiators with a ball. They’ve been through shït
The worst part about diving in soccer is that actual soccer injuries are horrific. A dude in high school broke his legs after a full sprint when he slid into the goal post. It was gnarly.
@MetalHeadTony, some friends of mine were playing soccer, they connected shins, one guy broke both bones in his lower leg
@Pvt BB Ghanoush, I just imagine his toe giving the other guys ass a little *boop* as his leg bends at the shin and wraps around him.
@MetalHeadTony, I wasn't there but other people said they heard the crack across the field
And that is why Hockey is the greatest sport
Ok, Steve Moore , 2004, an avalanche player was literally almost killed from a cheap shot on the back of the head, hockey ..........
@DrSin, didn't a Dallas Star player die on the bench get resuscitated and ask to be put back in the fame? I vaguely remember something about that
@Muscular Rooster, it was the Blues Player this year vs Anaheim Ducks, but I also think that’s also happened to the stars
@Muscular Rooster, it was Peverley from Dallas, he was very quickly revived and taken to the hospital. He retired afterwards due to blood clotting issues that caused it in the first place.
Honestly though, nothing gets close to Malarchuk’s neck getting sliced. The team doctor was a Vietnam war vet, and was able to pinch closed his artery. The only thing Malarchuk reportedly said while kneeling in a literal puddle of his own blood was “I want a priest”. He then went on to survive an gunshot to the roof of his mouth in a horrible suicide attempt. He is doing much better now, but something’s gotta be watching out for him to survive both of those
And you do a great job of driving that bad boy Lewis
Bullshït Tom Brady had great protection he almost never got hit now if u put Eli Manning there that’s a different story he had no protection for the last few years of his career
M-Soccer < W-MBA < drying paint.
You paused the fight to game.
Okay but Tom Brady is the worst example here they literally created a rule to protect him from getting hit because he’s a pvssy b!tch
I really wish someone would snap nemars leg in half. I hate that flopping bitch.
