Makes me think of Serenity. Good movie, I miss the series.
@groundpounder04, I was so sad when a lieutenant of mine recommended it to me and when I asked where the rest was she just smiled and said watch serenity and it should close it up for you. 😥
@groundpounder04, I have a funny story about that.
For the longest time, I was close friends with a dude who was DEFINITELY an undiagnosed psychopath. Serious mental issues there, but he was also the most loyal person I’ve ever met. One day he shows me this article about an Olympic sledder who died because they went too fast, fell out of a turn, and hit a support beam. He thinks it’s the funniest shït ever, because as I said, the dude’s a psycho.
I showed him Serenity. He loved it, the humour is right up his alley, and he enjoys the violence. The movie gets to the point with the Miranda Pax reveal, and he is so horrified by the concept of a planet’s worth of people giving up and letting themselves die, that he literally vomited.
Real world suffering doesn’t bother the guy, but fictional people dying from passivity was anathema to him. Go figure.
@I Are Lebo, *anathema*
I'm surprised, as you proof read everything before you post. pmsl
@TheMightyImp, thanks. I’m super high right now
@I Are Lebo, enjoy it man, peace
This is sorta what happened to a town in the show RWBY, to not attract monsters the chief brought in a monster that had powers to make you lethargic (since monsters are attracted to negative emotions he figured that if no one had emotions they’d be fine). He figured since they were pack hunters if he only took one the affects wouldn’t be bad, but the rest found the sewers he locked it up in and with a whole pack right below the town everyone just stopped doing anything and starved to death.
@nemestrinus , I really liked those episodes (or was it a single episode? It's been a while since I've seen it). It was eerie and unnerving while they slowly uncovered the story with the journals. I'm a huge fan of horror so that episode may have been my favorite in Volume 7
@nemestrinus , I’ve never seen any anime or whatever before and I never listen to all the suggestions I read on this app but I read that and I’m so bored I started watching it.
The Happening, staring Marky Mark
What is the point of surviving an apocalypse? If you survive, everything will be destroyed. Almost all your loved ones will be dead. Money aint worth a thing. Your only hope is that you know how to hunt and are a survivalist. But even at that, the others who also survive will probably try and kill you for your provisions. If you have a bunker food will eventually run out. And you have to live down there for a while. Itll be a horrible horrible life. So whats the point?
@sikkdog, it would be fun for a while. You could basically do whatever you wanted, go anywhere, not have to worry about the judgement of strangers. Then, after fulfilling every impulse, the intense loneliness would overwhelm you, and as you said, you die anyway.
This is, of course, assuming you were able to survive the initial apocalypse, and didn't just curl up in a ball to cry after realizing that you couldn't get any more McNuggets...
@sikkdog, its the hope that normal returns, it would also depend on the type of apocalypse too
@sikkdog, I think survival instinct beats the logical mind of asking what's the point in most cases.
Just, by Radiohead
I wish that was today, I have an awful hangover
So basically apathy syndrome from Persona 3?
