@Have An Upvote, just finished flying back cross country for necessary family stuff, AA enforced mask, except for brief period to eat or drink, and said something to the effect that failure to comply could result in not being allowed on future flights. I interpreted it as they wouldn't let you continue your trip (connecting flights) if you didn't comply, not permanent blacklisting. So maybe slight embellishment with a grain of truth!

@Have An Upvote, I talked to an airline pilot who told me that if someone was being unruly that he would tell them to stop or they would get banned, but it wasn't true. He would lie to passengers to get them to behave. That was before Corona virus though, and diverting aircraft is a big deal. I wouldnt be surprised either way.

@Depressed Cashier, im sure it varies quite a bit depending on destination and airline, but that wasn't my experience this weekend. Had 4 flights and the least full of the 4 was about 80%. One of them was full and overbooked and left several standbys at the gate. Im in the south where everyone thinks its all a government conspiracy tho, so that could have something to do with it.
My sister flew to Ohio the other day with her husband. Said they had very strict mask policies to the extent that if you didn’t follow them they’d ban you from flying with them ever again. She’s known to embellish the truth from time to time. Can anyone verify?
