While this is true I would also like to stand by the scientists to some degree. Their interest was on research and scientific discovery rather than radical politics and genocide. Unfortunately the nazis offered more freedom to their research that abused humans. Nonetheless their choice was do experiments with no restriction or literally become a test subject for those that will agree.
@Runnin with scissors, that’s called cowardice
@Runnin with scissors, We tarnished the American soul when we paper-clipped Nazis who experimented on and killed innocent people in their pursuit of knowledge and military advantage. Then our own US scientist did similar with all of their experiments on the US population (see “unethical human experimentation in the United States”).
@ZohmB, who down voted? All countries at one time or another has there atrocities so does the US
@BexarMinimum, can confirm. Even a country as young as Australia has the Stolen Generation, and that one war we lost
@Codeine, What were you doing to those poor emus?
@Runnin with scissors, we only took the rocket scientists, they didn’t have anything to do with the human experimentation portion of the nazi programs? There wasn’t any bravery or cowardice involved really it was do you want to work for the German people and develop weapons or do you want to work in a factory and make weapons as the war had either already started or prep was still being done, either way most persecution was carried out by civilians and government direction at that point but the death camps weren’t in operation and the kill squads were kept quiet while Jewish, Gypsies, Slavs were publicly encouraged to leave and not actually shipped off on trains, by the time that started working for the Nazis was less a moral argument and more a hey the Russians are some of the cruelest most sadistic conquerors on this side of the planet and they are coming for the German people.
@BexarMinimum, most haven’t done MASS GENOCIDE of several peoples. Lots of death of a specific people maybe, but not intentional genocide
@Andred, In my human factors engineering class we learned about how much of our space medicine knowledge came from the paper-clipped scientist Hubertus Strughold. He killed many during his experiements in Germany, yet the highest award a flight surgeon in the US could get was named after him until just recently. Von Braun was indirectly responsible for the deaths of many slaves who were forced to meet his manufacturing quotas. We must never forget those who died at their hands. The paper clipped Nazis never asked forgiveness. In fact, when the press started reporting on some of them and their war history they fled the US and potential trial with the aid of the US military.
@Codeine, you mean the EMU war? That war you fought against EMUS and lost to a bunch of EMUS? Is that the war that Aussies dont speak of and try to forget? The EMU war??
@YourProudFather, that'd be the one. Emus are some scary cvnts, don't fvck with them. Let's just be glad there wasn't a cassowary army. That wouldn't be a war, it would be a genocide
@Codeine, the thought of a cassowary army will haunt me
@Gallchobhair, that's why Australia is so dangerous. Not the snakes, spiders, scorpions, sharks, jellyfish, drop bears, or even kangaroos, its the constant fear that the emus will rise up and take whats theirs
@Codeine, honestly the emus and cassowaries are the only animals I actually fear will grow stronger if nuked. There is no stopping them. In the end of days it will only be them and the queen of England
@Gallchobhair, thats probably why she doesn't come here anymore
@Codeine, they have a strained non-aggression pact
@Gallchobhair, and Hitler had the treaty of Versaille, whats your point?
@Codeine, so what you’re saying is we aren’t safe from either of them?
@Codeine, All hail the gothstriches
@Gallchobhair, Australia is a dangerous, beautiful place
@Codeine, why is it the most beautiful things in this world often want to kill me?
@Gallchobhair, does that mean if I want to kill you ill be beautiful?
@Codeine, maybe not to me, but i’m sure someone out there will find you beautiful. But i was thinking like the fingers and thumbs thing. The beautiful things want to kill me but not all things that want me dead are beautiful
You’re right, we should have let the Russians capture them instead and have the USSR land on the moon first. That would have showed everyone who was boss. USA #2! USA #2!
