The bubonic plague is still a thing that infects people, this isn't new.
@Tin Eye Savant, and their still not a cure for it, and there's been a few cases in usa of cat owners getting it because they've been bitten by cats that have those infected fleas on them
@Tin Eye Savant, if I haven’t heard about it, it’s new to me
@freakazoid, while we don't have a cure, we do have some very good antibiotics to fight it, and most people who get it these days recover in a matter of weeks. You just have to get to the hospital ASAP.
@owanobi, the question is, would you know ASAP that you contracted the plague in order for you to go to the hospital early enough.
@freakazoid, some people have died because of how rare it is today just because they didn't test for it but if you know what you are looking for IE. Look up the symptoms, you should be fine. We also have much better hygiene standards today so I really doubt there will be a new plague outbreak today. The media is just using it's power to try and scare people for more clicks, pretty standard stuff. Remember when everyone was freaking out about murder hornets because the media made a big deal about it.
@owanobi, this doesn't look like any "media" site. Looks like just some headline pasted above a pic that none of the alphabet "you heard it here first" bois would use.
And on "the media" on the murder hornets thing.... Do you consider your Facebook feed news?
@mas2de, I don't use facebook practically at all, the murder hornets thing was all over the internet too. But it turned out they just found one dead one here in the states. I have heard of at least 3 different rare diseases or viruses coming back since the coronavirus hit from the media. Just add this to the pile I guess.
@owanobi, yeah I found out a few years ago that the plague never really disappeared nor was it wiped out. We apparently just got better at getting and staying clean and developed better medicine to treat it.
The "murder hornets" we have are not the Japanese or African or whatever. That's just BS spread by the same people that spread that Oumuamua was an alien ship. Their ilk. At least what I saw of it. No reputable media outlet that I saw covered that garbage or if they did it was a very brief mention with no fanfare and hype.
We do have Tarantula Hawk Wasps in the states in the South West. They're native or at least have been here a few hundred years. They are disgusting aholes of the highest caliber and I wouldn't be able to tell them and a "murder hornet" apart. Hopefully I'd only ever get a look at one under my boot or not at all.
@mas2de, Asian giant hornet presence is real, as 2 have been found in traps in WA state and reported by local news. However, the predicted infestation has thankfully not yet occurred. You would definitely be able to tell them apart from your tarantula hawk wasp. One skinny and evil, the other chunky and evil. Both need to go.
Eh, our prairie dogs here in Colorado have been carrying the plague for a century
First pandemic didn't work hit them with the plague
@Bean the Dynamite, how many masks should I wear?
@Bean the Dynamite, 900k dead? Not good enough. Needs that double whammy. *Makes mold spores mutate and be extremely toxic and proliferous.* Stuck outside with the rona or stuck inside with the mutant mold? Muahahahaha!
@mas2de, maybe people will stay home now
@Bean the Dynamite, can't go out if they's dead.
It feels like I could say anything crazy happened and people would believe me because 2020
On an unrelated note did you guys hear about the firefighter who died an apartment from some strange gas that was released in there and then came back to life in the morgues office, they say he was suddenly aggressive and didn't speak, he just bit the coroner.
@InsaneWorm, Gaseous element 115? They're not supposed to have that perfected for another 12 years.
Hey I live near there so that’s cool..
People don't even realize what 2022 is going to look like. Because for whatever reason, people think that the apocalypse is going to vanish when 2020 does. Suffice to say, I would start memorizing the Testament of the Slayer if I were you.
@Dr Grimmwell, *starts gatling shotgun build and grappling hook mod for double barrelled sawed off shotguns.*
Yeah yeah, for the past like 5 years I have seen reports of Plague each year. It's nothing new for 2020, yeah it's bad but now the majority of the 1st world population does not live with rats scurrying around our homes, we are not malnourished and do not try to cure disease through fasting and blood letting.
damnit so close! i put my money on tuberculosis
