"And you didn't even bring in donuts!"
I love meetings. Ain't gotta do shjt and if something gets delayed due to the meeting, it ain't my fault. Shjt, I try to sit in on meetings for departments I'm not even a part of
@Drunk Pantless Uncle, ah, I see you are a man of taste and culture!
How about you enjoy getting paid to sit on your ass.
@ImNotRacistBut, project deadlines exist though
@Cpzombie, Yes, but pointless meetings are a must! Especially in government. It's not financially sustainable in private industry to have all the silly meetings I have.
@bowlnmike, when I worked in government I had 2 meetings a day minimum, and rarely would there be an actual useful meeting. Now that I work in the private sector, I maybe have 2 meetings a month and they only happen when it is an absolute must so they're always really important and useful
@iLikeBigBooks, When I worked in private industry, we would meet once a week to go over assignments. Now that I am public, we go over assignments like once every 3 months, which is way too long when an average assignment takes 2-3 weeks. And not to mention, the other meetings are all repeats of emails and previous meetings.
I kinda miss the efficiency of private industry (and less bureaucracy) and am working towards it in my 3 year plan.
Been through so many of those. Especially the safety meetings that last for 8+ hours that I have to drive 6 hours round-trip to go to. Fun times.
