There's more pizza huts than police stations. Cause people are willing to pay for pizza.
@AverageIdiot, prolly cuz dominoes employees dont make a habit of killing unarmed civilians
@Hoban Washburne, dude don’t. Don’t start that here
@Hoban Washburne, you’re more likely to be killed on the job as a pizza delivery worker than a PO in the US. They’re truly the thin mozzarella cheese strand protecting us from anarchy.
@Hoban Washburne, According to LEOKA there were about 550k officers that provided service in 2018. There were 59k assaults on officers reported.
1 in 10 officers were assaulted in 2018. 3.3 for every 100 officers were injured as a result of the assaults. There were 55 felonious deaths in 2018.
Pizza delivery drivers aren't trained to avoid getting killed. So if you only take deaths into account then sure it seems like Pizza Delivery drivers have a more dangerous job but when looking at all the data that's not the case.
So rather than taking the low number of deaths of police as an indication of a low risk job, it should be looked at as an effectiveness of training, imo.
@NotCaveJohnson, that or they generally have a greater capacity to defend themselves based on their general arsenal and social perception. you see a dominoes driver you dont think threat, so if you’re a more violence-prone individual you’d be more likely to assault them than cops, who predominantly move in pairs, have bullet-proof vests, guns, tasers, and are generally perceived as a greater threat by and large. correcting for those factors i dont know that you can correlate a lack of injury and death among officers to superior training, more a superior arsenal
@Spetsnaz , bullet resistant vests were invented by a pizza delivery driver because he lived I a rough side of town
@Hoban Washburne, I don't know if you were trying to be funny, or if you're ignorant to the facts, by if it's the latter, I suggest you go do some research on statistics of law enforcement contacts which result in a use of force event and use of deadly force before you talk about the habits of law enforcement.
@RogueKnight, ah yes, the ole internet classic “you’re wrong, look it up idiot. i will say you’re wrong and put the onus on you to justify my stance without citing any evidence myself”. truly the cornerstone of idiots shouting at each other online
@Hoban Washburne, first, I never said you were an idiot. No one, no matter how intelligent, is right all of the time.
Second, I would post links, but it is pointless when you can't copy and paste out of this app.
Third, unarmed does not mean they can't significantly injure or kill. I have a partner that was fighting an "unarmed" guy, who managed to overtake him, take his gun, and shoot him in the face. Michael Brown was unarmed, but physically larger than the officer and tried to take his gun, and then was charging the officer when he was shot. just two examples of how "unarmed" subjects can still be a deadly threat.
@RogueKnight, i wasnt calling you an idiot, i was saying that general argument tactic is idiotic.
and i feel like ive copied and pasted from this app before, but im trying now and its weird i cant.
and my whole argument is just a devils advocate alternate opinion to the “idiot libs want to defund the police” initial comment. (he didnt say that, but that was the subtext). i trust cops, but denying theres an issue in law enforcement is willfully disingenuous
@Hoban Washburne, there is no global issue in law enforcement. There is no systematic racism throughout the country. Isolated regions, agencies, and officers, sure. But law enforcement is not inherently racist. Statistics back that up. There are states, i clouding my own, which are tracking it. They have found nothing to substantiate that theory.
I think the issue is complex, with part being that society is saying it's okay to resist, fight, and disobey lawful orders. Another aspect is a socioeconomic one. But giving money isn't the answer when people don't know how to use it responsibly.
@Hoban Washburne, oh hey this again can you not
@Hoban Washburne, 0.0001% hoban remember.
@lilwhiteboyz, actrually it was a chemist name stephanie kwolek.
@CocoasBro, idk which comment thats in reference to, ive made a few
@RogueKnight, you see thats where we disagree, id agree theres no overt “fvck the blacks” doctrine, but implicit racism is a powerful thing, and studies have shown everybody has a bit of implicit racism in them. i think cops have a fair bit of it. not enough for any of them to be overt racists, but enough for them to see a black guy on the street and think “criminal” and “dangerous” just a bit faster than they would for a white guy. and not for no reason. black people commit more crime per capita than whites, thats statistical fact. but one thing is VITALLY important here: “more criminals are black” is NOT the same as “more blacks are criminals”. i think too often cops make that false equivalence
@RogueKnight, and if you think blacks are criminals, id wager it makes your trigger finger a might itchier when you’re in a sus situation with a black guy.
theres also a valid argument for overt racism. zimmerman flat tried to auction the gun he used to gun down a black kid for profit. there aint a lit of them, but theyre out there
@Hoban Washburne, the first one. Implying that cops have a habbit of killing unarmed citizens. I was refrencing the percentage of cops having actrually killed someone a year if you're insanely generous to your side. 0.0001 if you assume all 1004 deaths by cop in 2019 were all un-armed murders.
Pizza hut workers have repercussions when they are late......
To be fair if the pizza delivery guy is late too many times they get fired. If the police never show up or show up late and kill your kid and dog they still keep their job.
Theyre stuck in traffic because theyre siren budget got defunded.
I'm just going to
@lilwhiteboyz, hate to tell you this, but us cops generally don't care if you're only 10 over. If it's a sheriff's department in your area, they will probably let you go 20 if you aren't driving like a jerk.
@RogueKnight, Delete all this
@lilwhiteboyz, Lmao why am I like this
