@voided sanity, lol, bro.. a tiny number of all these peaceful protests get turned into riots mostly by cops or outside parties (e.g. Proud Boys). I live near Seattle, and have a lot of friends in Portland. Ive seen the protests. I’ve been there. I’ve see so many live-streams. And I listen to various news sources. Nothing has been as violent or destructive as right wing news makes it out to be. And yes, most everyone that gets detained are released the next day because the cops have no reason to charge them. Protect our 1st amendment rights 🙃

@SmartFeller, so it's mostly peaceful. They've caused over 30 deaths and 2 billion dollars in property damage. That's about 1/10 the damage as a hurricaine and as many deaths as all the hurricaines in 2016. (In the us) And protesting is perfectly fine. I fully support that. But the first amendment doesn't include riots. And if you prevent a cop from doing his job you are a accomplice to the death and destruction caused by them.

@SmartFeller, yeah. See, I’d agree with you... if there hadn’t been people getting brutally beaten and shot in the streets because they are wearing a MAGA hat or are protecting their stores from “protesters.” I don’t know about you, but starting fires, killing others based on ideology, and destroying innocent people’s livelihoods sounds preeeetty violent to me. 🙃

@SmartFeller, the US would be a better place if we didn't hide our history. Then maybe our population would be aware that police brutality and the shooting of peaceful protestors, along with the police inciting riots has been a thing for like 40 years. It's the same story over and over. *People try to protest peacefully* *government hard liners (almost always right wing) take issue with this and try to restrict via police* *police get antsy and start beating people* *protest turns into riot* *idiots who can't see the forest from the trees say "dang those protesters"* *repeat*

@bobbylupo, I really don’t see anything getting better regardless of who wins. The winner is just going to determine in which particular way things get worse. I don’t see these riots stopping either way, to be honest. I don’t know whether or not Biden would be too weak to stop them, but even if Trump wins, he’s not going to stop them for whatever reasons why he hasn’t already stopped them.
I wish people would be more specific than “the government.” That’s casting such a wide net. There are political appointees, elected officials, people who run crash tests on vehicles... some of them were gifted their positions because of the party currently in power, but some of them bust their butts every day to keep the lights on regardless of whatever drama gets created.
