If only that worked
@Darth Panserbjorne, Mythbusters: Blowing your own sail, they proved its possible to move from your own wind source on the "boat"
@Duranu, yup. It's not efficient, but it does actually work with the right set up. Certainly not like this though, on land, with all that drag and friction
@TheMightyImp, if you had a new bucket and greased the axles up on it im sure you could get it to work, they make some stupid strong leaf blowers lol, and it should be easier with an umbrella than the big ass sail as the leaf blower is more focused the air can hit center, loop out the edges of the umbrella and blow back at him
@Duranu, yeah, what was it Mr beast do with leaf blowers.. a hovercraft or something
@Darth Panserbjorne, sorry I’m a bit slow but does this mean this video is fake?? I was getting excited for nothing 😢
@Duranu, you can certainly move from your own wind source. In the opposite direction that this video shows, and the sail would be working against you.
Because of Newtons second law, a perfect sail would net you 0 motion
@TheMightyImp, not in that direction, and the sail would work against you. You can blow air to move yourself, but not into a sail.
@Duranu, what you suggest violates newton's second law
@TheMightyImp, just leaf blowers or fans work for sure, not with a sail though
@Darth Panserbjorne, it's been done. Something about a special sail..
@Darth Panserbjorne, what I suggest is watching clips of the episode and seeing why you are wrong, it's not efficient but it works
@swooz, this video, as presented, violates newton's second law of motion with a "sail" and moves in the wrong direction without it.
@Duranu, i watched the mythbusters episode upon your suggestion, it confirms what i have said
@Darth Panserbjorne, they did everything they could to circumvent the problem of the sail, and still went the wrong way
@Darth Panserbjorne, the sail was still a detriment
@TheMightyImp, if you have evidence for this that isnt just "a sail that gets in the way less" please let me know. I would love to find out im wrong
@Darth Panserbjorne, I was as surprised as you. Something similar to how a sailboat tacks into the wind. Something pretty smart. I won't be researching it for you though
@TheMightyImp, im sorry, im not sure what tacking into the wind is supposed to mean.
@Darth Panserbjorne, lol thank you. I bit disappointed tho😔
@Darth Panserbjorne, then you know very little about sails as thats covered in orientation.
@Verzaad, no typically, when a sail is being used in conjunction with normal winds, it would take you in the direction of the wind. In this case of self produced wind, if the sail perfectly captures all the wind, and there's no loss of energy, the force on the sail would be equal and opposite to the force on the leaf blower from sucking the sail.
If the sail is less effective, the force on the leaf blower is greater, pushing you backwards. Its basic physics.
If you wish for meaningful conversation, i am more than willing. i wont respond to further ad homenims though.
*Green Hill Zone Theme plays*
@The Lifeguard, Benny Hill theme plays
Can someone please test it out to confirm?
The thing that bothers me most about this is that he pull starts the blower......... it's electric
