Lighting is a SEVERELY underapriciated art in and of itself
@generic zombie, Bingo. I had a friend take a very basic bare-bones photography class and even then I was stunned about how much even the angle of a single light source can totally transform an image.
@generic zombie, As someone who has taken multiple film classes and has had to become his church's film "expert" over the past few months, I can confirm that lighting is an art form I am just scratching the surface of.
@SimonPetrikov, don’t worry I went to a film college and I’m still learning
Top images all look like over the hedge era cartoons lol
It pains me how much work people put into these animated films just to be either forgotten or underappreciated. Laika does some fantastic movies and you hardly hear about them. I don't know anyone who has seen Kubo and the Two Strings. They're only mostly known for Coraline.
@Desiderata, mediocre writing and over reliance on focus groups is killing entertainment.
@Hot Coffee, damn straight. Watch that masterpiece if you haven't already. Should have won more Oscar than that stupid once upon a time in Hollywood crap that had so much nominations. But Adam Ruins Everything showed that the Oscars are bought out.
@Desiderata, I have, it’s really good!
Cool dude, thanx for sharing
This guy is the RTX of animations.
Too bad his name isn’t Ray.
Can somebody tell me if this was a good movie or not? The commercials were interesting, but I got burned out on kids films cause of Illumination.
@That one lurker, I liked it. Smith and Holland play well off each other. Once they really start pushing the "message" at the end it gets a little sappy, but it works.
@DamienD, what kind of message could it have?
@That one lurker, violence vs nonviolence.
@DamienD, ah... pigeon vs non pigeon
@That one lurker, Don't put your hand so close to the lightbulb next time.
So you draw in skies?
