That’s true y did nobody complain and demand that Vader be canceled because it’s so insensitive to the victims of genocide and mass murder? Oh that’s right cause it was in the 70s when ppl didn’t cry about everything and they realized that movies and tv shows weren’t real they’re just entertainment
@bobbylupo, are people really making a big deal of this? Or is it just being blown out of proportion to get people to click links, because none of this really matters?
@WarBureMon, it's blown out of proportion. It's a small fringe group of sjw's.
@Drunk Pantless Uncle, the same ppl that make a big deal out of everything
@bobbylupo, also just because it’s a baby Yoda doesn’t mean it’s inherently good
@bobbylupo, I think it's more that baby yoda seems to be marketed as cute and a good guy, so people didn't like to see him eating someone's unfertilized eggs. Vader on the other hand is portrayed as a bad guy, and it is bad to blow up planets, so it's expected. I personally don't care, as I see it as a story and I have no idea if baby yoda is supposed to be good or not. But I can see why done people are upset
@bobbylupo, cause Twitter is a disease.
Babies are gonna put random things in their mouth. It happens
Maybe because one is supposed to be an evil character while the other is supposed to be a good character but I have never seen the show.
@owanobi, No no you're getting it twisted. Anakin Skywalker was the good character but he "died" when Darth Vader was born. Babies however are inherently evil so you got that one right.
@owanobi, the Child isn't good or bad. He/she is a damn baby. Saves someone one episode then chokes a bitch the next. It doesn't know good or bad. Just eat.
Firstly, Darth Vader didn’t destroy Alderaan, Grand Moff Tarkin did. It was a horrible war crime, and serves as the motivator for the Rebellion to enter into open warfare against the Empire. There was nothing comedic about the destruction of the planet.
Secondly, in that episode of the Mandalorian, the job was to deliver the eggs, which were made out to be the last hope for the family line of that frog woman, and they played off The Child eating the eggs like a gag. It was disrespectful to their own characters.
Finally, Mando acted like a complete amateur when it came to the eggs. He made no effort to separate The Child from the eggs or stop it from eating half of them. A light reprimand to a creature that doesn’t even speak common is like telling your dog that eating chocolate is a no-no and then being surprised that it ate the chocolate cake you left out uncovered and unsupervised.
The Child eating the eggs was a pointless, disrespectful gag that added nothing to the story.
@I Are Lebo, how was it disrespectful second Mando didn’t try very hard because he didn’t care protecting the eggs is the parents job not his, his job was to get them to mon calamri and when piloting a spaceship(he had to no hyperdrive) with no seat belts what is he supposed to do imprison it in the one room he had that could hold him for the entire who knows how long trip not really fair to the kid
@I Are Lebo, you...you realize it's a fictional show? The Child is just an eating machine. He doesn't know or understand that those are the the last line of frog lady's lineage. There's nothing disrespectful about it. It's joke in a show that has shown numerous times that The Child eats everything in reach that fits in his/her mouth. It's not genocide, it's not murder, if anything it's nature, survival of the fittest. No one cares when a hyena eats bird eggs or something. Because The Child is a more advanced being, means they don't have primal instincts?
@I Are Lebo, EXACTLY. Spot on for how some of us felt about this episode. Now be ready to be called names and told to grow up and that you are wrong because thats how you felt. Just know you are not the only one to see it that way. All of my friends felt this way too. Im not advocating to cancel the show. All i have said was i didnt like it, it wasnt funny to me and i found it disrespectful. I wont be watching anymore episodes because i dont want to. There full stop. Everyone else carry on as you see fit but dont @me trying to tell me how im wrong for how i felt about it. You do you i will do me. Good day all.
@mycatsanahole, not jumping on you @I Are Lebo. I am agreeing with what you said. I just got alot of bs on another comment and it came out here and made the tone of my comment harsh. Hope you have a wonderful day.
@eleven, I don’t think you thought your argument through.
1. He was hired to transport the frog AND its eggs. By allowing the child to eat them, he was failing his principle.
2. He could have easily locked up the eggs somewhere secure or made sure the frog lady was with it.
3. He took on responsibility for the child, which includes its behaviour. It could have choked on an egg or eaten them all, and he did nothing to stop it.
4. It was disrespectful to the audience because they were simultaneously trying to get us to emotionally connect to the frog woman while also playing off the consumption of her family’s future as a comedic moment. The tone shift as well as the lack of respect of the show’s creators for their own characters is what I’m referring to, not necessarily the characters themselves being disrespectful. Though Mando was quite disrespectful to the frog woman, and unprofessional, as well.
@Drunk Pantless Uncle, read my response to eleven. The problem is the tonal shift from Mando taking on a job that involves saving the future of this alien woman, and then treating that as a joke by having the child repeatedly eat them. Especially that blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment at the very end where it ate yet another egg. From a narrative point of view, that’s equivalent to taking potshots at your own characters, and flies in the face of any emotional connection they were trying to establish with the episode.
And no, I had NO idea that the show was fictional. I was so sure that it was an actual historical retelling of aliens and space battles. Are you sure that this wasn’t real? Really sure? Like, how can you know?
@mycatsanahole, I’m going to continue for a while longer in the hopes that the real season will kick off once Asohka joins, but I’m close to giving up on it. The writing quality has just been SO bad.
I immediately disliked this new version of Bo-Katan. Boob armor aside, I don’t think Katie Sackhoff is a particularly good actress, and her Starbuck-with-goofy-red-hair doesn’t exactly sell me on Warrior Queen. I mean, could they not get a better quality wig? Or better yet, dye her actual hair?
@I Are Lebo, 1. he was hired to TRANSPORT them not protect them 2. protecting the eggs is her job not his quite frankly how hard is it to pay attention to the most valuable thing in your life 3. what was he supposed to do stop the ship every time the kid took a step towards the container auto-pilot has been shown throughout Star Wars to only work with the hyperdrive anything slower requires an active pilot/crew 4. Mando has been through a lot in the past few days working hard to kill the dragon thing before that fighting off a battalion of imperials and then he has to travel at impulse to another probable dead end he has every right to be snippy we were connecting to her not the eggs her and that was done decently enough until the stupid woman decided to wander off to do what exactly there’s no way she could have known that hot spring was there and wandering off in the cold is a pretty surefire to get yourself killed even without the snow Aragogs
@eleven, Jesus, dude, add some paragraphs. I’m not wading through that wall of text over such an inconsequential argument
Great now the one decent star wars property is gonna have to watch what they do and try not to offend anyone bc of this shìt. Thanks, Karen's.
The eggs aren't fertilised!!! If you've ever eaten a chicken egg or anything with egg products and then complain about an imaginary youngling eating them to then you're a hypocrite.
Oh so that’s how Yodas species learns to jump like that...
Because it is according to plan
Wait, what’s happening now?
‘Uncle Ethan’ knows the pain.
