Yes use pejoratives to shame people. Makes the bleating herds sound really nice, very convincing. On a less confrontational note look what's happening to the country. And for what a disease with a astronomically low mortality rates for anyone under 70. All while Elites like myself rakes in fat stacks of cash because a lockdown to destroying small businesses. When did you become a corporate shill that you're willing to burned down mom and pop shops to make Besos and Walmart into the only places to get food. I understand why you're scared, anyone would have been scared they were lied to as much as you are. You're being abused, recognize it and own it. Who do you think are lobbying the government to increase the time you're locked down? Regardless, don't be an asshole, some people don't understand the facts, and has been beaten down by fear mongers. Where your mask at a restaurant and doctor's office. Everywhere else is excessive.
-
@Turing, he’s got a point. Remember when they were telling us that wearing masks was a bad idea and that 2.2 million Americans would be dead from covid by the end of the year? I do. I’m sick of being told to listen to the experts when the “experts” have pulled a complete 180 on some of their statements and just been flat out wrong by an order of magnitude on others. And above all, I’m sick of being told to be afraid and that I’m stupid for not being easily cowed by virtue signaling brats.
-
@RepostSniper, they said don't wear masks when we had a major mask shortage. If doctors didn't have enough masks to see covid positive patients then why should normal people wear them if they can just stay home instead? There was never a major change in covid opinion other than WHO officially announcing it to be airborne far later than they should have.

@combat yoga, I'm getting F@cking rich off this lock down. Command economies help the elites. I'm making bank, money in fisa, Walmart, Amazon. With Joe Biden may be getting in I got fat stakes in our military complex. I'm making bank of the government turning authoritarian and the people being too stupid to go for Trump. So yes, please take it from me, I'm set to lose money if we open up. I'm willing to have it happen to save capitalism in this country.
-
@That one lurker, if you look towards Asian countries such as Japan and South Korea, they have gone back to 99% of normal because everyone wears masks anywhere where social distancing is impossible. While yes is difficult to find out the true facts about the the effects of covid on the US, it costs you almost nothing to wear a mask anytime you're in public. That being said I blame both conservitards and libcucks for the overall bankruptcy of most small businesses, because congress specifically chose to support big business way more than the people who actually needed it.
-
@that anime guy, do you think it's maybe some of their other policies that allowed them to get a handle on covid-19? National tracking, a heavier lockdown, public shaming. Pretty authoritarian stuff. You know what those two places didn't do that we did, they didn't put sick patients and old folks homes. A breeding ground for this disease, they didn't have mass unrest from the George Floyd riots. They didn't have feckless politicians letting prisoners go to join those riots. A boy was in fear for his life, shot three men, killed a pedo, a rapist, and shot a felon abuser. How could you randomly pick out three people from a crowd and pick 3 with that large of a rap sheet? We have records of these places letting prisoners go free. Because of covid. They were in the most secure place. While we stuffed the sick with the vulnerable, we let them free to destroy businesses.
-
@That one lurker, bro while I agree that currently we have more authoritarian stuff going on than "usual" the same thing happened after 9/11 and with fdr's new deal. Authoritarian policies are not themselves evil when in a time of high stress. We had such a bad time handling covid because everyone just kind of did what they wanted instead of having a unified goal which made the people who actually did the stuff to make everyone safe pissed because they felt like they wasted their time. I'm not gonna comment of BLM or the riots/protests associated because I don't trust any media outlet to tell me the truth. I know that racism is very much alive in America especially here in Georgia where I am, so something needs to be done but am the peaceful protests did nothing. Not advocating for violence but if i were black and I saw my people getting shot in the street for jogging, I would want to burn something down too. I mean it's been 50 years since MLK and this stuff is still happening
-
@That one lurker, also the reason I can talk about covid with any amount of assurance is that I work in a covid lab processing tests and I am somewhat caught up on the scientific literature understanding the disease (actual papers that get published in science and nature magazine i mean not like stuff from New York times)
-
@that anime guy, not to be crass, you are ignorant. The man that was "jogging" was several miles away from his house. Looking at a construction site for a new building, looking to steal tools. The man's been going there every once in awhile, and there had been a robbery in a car around the time he started "jogging", a gun was stolen. The local police asked a retired cop to keep an eye out. Him and his son was alerted to the trespasser, who fled the scene after being seen. The retired police officer and his son jumped in the car and ran after him. The fleeing man stoped down the road. The office brought out his shotgun. The man lunged to get the gun, got shot in the scuffle. The ex-cop didn't know he was unarmed since the robbery happened 3 weeks prior. If I could recall the tape he had the gun at rest on aprotch, I'm not sure, and if I can recall right the "jogger" had a rap sheet. The problem that stemmed out of this, was a clear cut manslaughter and misuse of a deadly weapon. But...

@RepostSniper, you do realize how that makes no sense right? There were no masks, they specifically said they're is a mask shortage please don't buy masks so our doctors can have them instead and not die. Your logic is incredibly flawed in that if someone says something once that is law forever which is not applicable when considering humans ability to change and learn new things. It seems like you hate the inconvenience of wearing masks and you just want a free excuse of "see they were wrong once so who knows if they're right this time" which again doesn't even apply here because they never said masks were ineffective
-
@that anime guy, it was never posed to us, that's to not wear a mask because of a shortage. It was posed as a bad idea. Then to be beaten over the head from the very same "experts" that told us not to do something, now to do something. All while saying ( I am not joking) this could have been relieved if we wore masks earlier. What was stopping us? The shortage. Who was hiding the shortage? The "experts". Who should get blamed for not wearing a mask? Well of course it's the rabble for not understanding that they should have listened now and not then, before now happened. In stilling a natural opposition from anyone that listens to both. Time changes all information. Right now for instance we have a choice. We can either hide in our homes or get back to work. If we hide Millions will die in third world countries. If we get back to work, hundreds more Americans die. Speaking pure utilitarianism, the choice is obvious.
-
@That one lurker, All of your comments are irrelevant and long winded. The lockdowns are what hurt the economy and small businesses, wearing masks does not. Even if the masks offer far less protection than the claimed 70-95%, they do offer some protection, so its in your and everyone else's best interest to wear them. Those are the facts. Now I can agree that shaming people is not necessarily the best way to convince people who don't want to wear a mask to wear one.
-
@That one lurker, I don't know how you only heard "masks bad" from experts tbh. I'm biased because I'm somewhat in the field so I always double check everything I hear so I knew we had a shortage. Not saying that not knowing was your fault but no one hid that information. Any report about the status of hospitals showed they lacked the proper materials to handle covid and those reports even showed up in mainstream media so there was no act of hiding that info. Also I don't know why millions of third world people will die if we don't work, I assume you mean our economy keeps them fed and therefore alive? But I'm not sure so I'm just going to ignore that point due to lack of info but I will say that it is irrelevant. If we actually cared about the lives of people in third world countries we could do way more than we do now but again going to ignore that. We have 2.3k Americans dying daily not hundreds, so wrong metric there. Also utilitarianism doesn't work. More to follow
-
@PottedPlant, I agree and understand your position. Thank you for the pointed response at my grievance. I made the post half in line with attacking the lockdown as a whole. Since I find them to be linked. Where I understand your position, and agree with the majority of it. By the fact that masks or used now as a symbolic tool of compliance. It is necessary to attack the symbol, as a dog would to a collar, if he was to free himself from the leash. If you don't mind the flowery language at the end, I hope it gets the point across.
-
@that anime guy, that millions of people would die for the third world countries was the WHO. The American metric that I used is assuming the same number of people would die regardless. If option A kills 100 people What option B kills 90 It is not hyperbolic or a bad metric to say option b saves 10 people. Even with the other 90 deaths. Also at what time did the mainstream media start declaring that we are having a shortage, could you find me those dates?
-
@That one lurker, taking all of Bill gates money and net worth, we could eliminate homelessness in the US along with fixing multiple other issues related to poverty. I do not advocate for this but if is objectively the best utilitarian option rather than let people be homeless and die in the streets. Kantian ethics are far more applicable especially since it's what is used in Healthcare, where you aim to not use people as resources but instead as invaluable things to be cherished instead. We are also working for the most part, the majority of Americans are working those that aren't simply can't find jobs so I don't understand your viewpoint. Wear a mask at your job and there's no problem with working. Economy is bad right now so many can't find jobs. Lockdown has been over since like May, so why are you acting as though the vast majority are still doing it? Almost everyone is working from home and restaurants are all open again, so again how are we still locked down?
-
@that anime guy, you don't know anything about the Joe Biden presidency do you. Joe Biden said that he was going to trust the scientists. His adviser has already declared that there is going to be a "six week" federally mandated shutdown. If 15 days turned to 10 months. And if falchi is saying life won't return back to "normal" until Q2/Q3 of 2021. Then we're heading into another lockdown. If you do not know this, that's fine, as you said it's not your job to know this.
-
@That one lurker, I don't have that stuff memorized and I don't want to put in the effort to find it, you can filter news reports by day and look around that time to find it, I saw it on TV that they were talking about it around the time of the lock down, I have no problem with another one so long as congress gives money to small business instead of only big corporations like last time but I know they won't. Another lockdown is essentially required of no one will wear masks but the people who don't participate will make it meaningless anyways unfortunately. You keep ignoring the majority of my points and focus on one of two minor points or sentences to prove that you are right and that I am wrong. You claim that blind compliance is wrong yet all your points scream counter culture compliance, I hope you at least try to use more logic and hold real discussions with people in the future tho. I'm tired of this so imma enjoy Thanksgiving I hope you do too
-
@That one lurker, he wasn't the only one that had gone inside the house. There's video of several people going in curiously. There's no proof of the gun bein stolen. But it doesn't effin matter, you don't kill a man just because you are suspicious and then call your DA buddies to bail you out. That is wrong. There's a justice system for a reason.
-
@mayora13, I agree on the justice system. The excop made a poor move by bringing the gun out, hindsight is 20/20, he did not know that the guy didn't have a gun on him. He was not shot because he was suspicious. He lunged at the gun. To State the double standard, that I brought up. If he was armed, and shot these two, we wouldn't be talking about it. Also, which gun? Which is THE gun? The media are fickle bįtches. The man tryed to take the shot gun. I said specifically a gun was stolen from a car, the police have record of the report. So what gun are you talkin about? You have a good thanksgiving.
-
@That one lurker, you look at mortality rate while ignoring the morbidity rate and the thousands who will have permanent cognitive/brain, heart, lung, and organ damage, half of whom will no longer be able to work. Yeah, those people, stacked with the hundreds of thousands dead, will be great economically. Watching the video of the woman who had a miscarriage from this virus was a lot of fun. She won't be the first or the last. I hope you can feel the sarcasm coming off of this.
-
@CocoasBro, They're not mutually exclusive. The lockdowns hurt the economy, not wearing masks. Not saying it should have been mandated for everyone to have to wear them, but it is clear they provide some sort of protection vs not wearing them, even if that protection is alot less than the 70-95% that was initially claimed.
-
A bitch at the chiropractor i go to was potentially exposed 2 days prior and still went in for work. They get old people in there and they're dealing with people who already have some kinda injury. I was pretty pissed when she told me but they let the receptionist wear a mesh mask and cough without covering her mouth so whatever I guess. "Maybe I'm asymptomatic haha!" UGH won't go see her parents for Thanksgiving now but is happy to go to work. Still mad
-
People give up 8 hours of their freedom to me every day and all I have to pay is minimum wage, they make me thousands every day and no matter how hard I push them they always turn up the next day, how much would you charge me for an hour of your life?, because right now these lockdowns are essentially you giving it away for free, and you're government is never giving it back to you, don't get mad at me I just run a business, I never forced anyone to come here they just came to me, it's amazing what you'll allow to happen to you, mask away people if it helps you feel safe, but even your turkey felt safe a few weeks ago.
Well hold on everybody, I’m on an app for funny pics and funny comments but let me give you a long Facebook rant instead
