@Codeine, overweight dogs are often uncomfortable or even in pain they pant not to cool themselves but frequently for stress. Dogs are not meant to be fat. They can still be happy but they'd not only live longer but also have a better life not being fat. Same with cats they can develop significant health issues that are often painful. same for humans really...

@Codeine, I'd agree but I often dont finish my plate. I love to cook but I'm single and hate wasting food so either im gonna get fat or my dog is from leftovers. I also just love watching the excitement and joy my boy gets from something so simple. I'm a hypocrite I guess but my dog is very fit because I have a huge property and take him out 3-4 times a day.

@Codeine, I overheard my vet talking to another dog owner about their dog's weight and proper feeding. When the owner said that they had no control over how much the dog ate the vet replied "Of course you do. The dog isn't going to raid the fridge in the middle of the night!"

He looked way happier when he was barley able to fit into his fur I mean so they had to let out his fur a bit so he could fit his fur, but on the right he looks more depressed and unhappy let the good boy be himself !!!!

Well yea if someone else was controlling the quality of my food, how often i ate, and directed my exercise then i could lose dozens of pounds in a few weeks. Still a good pupper
