@onetoendall, yeah unfortunately it doesn’t work. It’s the same reason we don’t just put a giant fan on a sailboat. You could create energy if you could do this

@Duncan5769, it does work because it isn’t a closed system, air coming off the umbrella is able to escape on a path the goes in the opposite direction of the force of the leaf blower. Since the umbrella is much wider than the nozzle of the blower (and curved, but that may be negligible) it allows for more unimpeded “exhaust air”
