It's just that simple
It messes up my beard plus i keep smiling at ppl even though they cant see it.
@Cuactemoc4919, I gave up and trimmed mine.....I miss my fluffy face and neck but the wife apparently loves the shorter and ‘neater’ looking beard so I guess that’s a plus?
@Cuactemoc4919, I got a massive. Beard, I just wear a big mask. Get a "neck garter with earloops" its super comfie and breathable. Its not A+ class protection or anything but cdc says any mask is significantly better then nothing.
The only group of people allowed to complain about masks are people with lung conditions and people with glasses
@ConfusedEngineer, even as a glasswearer, there are plenty of ways to go about keeping the fog from happening. So even my visually challenged brethren have no place to bit¢h about it
@ConfusedEngineer, thank you! Someone has to say it!
@Chifilo, you could suck it. If there are “plenty of ways” please list them all. Inform us. Otherwise you’re full of it.
@Child Slapper, If you wear glasses just wear a mask that you’re able to pinch in at the top of your nose. I’ve literally had zero problems with those.
@Insane Old Lady, the steam from my breath is very warm in the winter. It takes 2 seconds to dig up no matter what. I’ve only had success recently with a lower face shield because it has distance. But thank you.
Look! A picture for stupid people!
Good news Fauci said we can stop wearing masks after 80% are vaccinated and the virus risk is almost zero. Hahaha
“i CaNt BrEaThE” then maybe you don’t deserve to? 🤔
@Chifilo, maybe rethink that one
I wear a mask 99% of the time just cause whatever but if I saw this I'd leave tbh. Same if I saw an antimask one like this. Don't be a jerk.
@Nekozombie, I’ve been in stores and restaurants where some greeter or host would offer a mask if some person didn’t have one and either get flipped of, ignored, or called “f**king retard” like I saw this one teenager trying to do her job at a restaurant was.....this sign isn’t nearly half as rude as some of those people and might actually get something through to these people who apparently need to be belittled into wearing something I have to wear 10+ hours while I work
@The Cossack, I feel you that's why I said don't be a jerk, mask or no mask. Someone wants you to wear a mask wear one or leave. Don't throw a fit. No one should be a jerk. Just imo if I saw this is would turn me off as a customer because it's jerky. There's enough negativity all the time that I dont really want to experience more on my downtime when I just want some food
@Nekozombie, what you sit in your house and go to sleep in a mask?
@CocoasBro, Don't kink shame me bro
@Nekozombie, I figured just if I had my own business going this long into a pandemic I would definitely love a sign like this. Easier to call them out before they enter and get into an argument with staff over a state mandate (state/country dependent). Negative or not it’s respectable to see a place firm on policies
@Nekozombie, Just curious man. Man you must have some serious pimples then huh.
Update time - after my work implemented mandatory mask wearing, my asthma started getting out of control. After a couple of weeks I passed out on the job and suffered a concussion. While in the hospital, I was forced to keep a mask on even while by myself, and was refused breathing treatments because they thought I was faking symptoms. I also found out while still in the hospital that I had been fired from my job because they too thought I was faking and trying to get workers comp. Now, just last week, I’ve had to sell my house and my car to cover the medical bills, and I can’t find another job because at the first mention of having breathing problems with a mask I am shown the door for being an “anti masker”.
@Bobaganusche88, sorry to hear that bud. I also know just how badly masks and asthma do not mix. Hope you find a job soon.
@Bobaganusche88, have you posted this before?
@Bobaganusche88, grow up
@Bobaganusche88, id reccomend going to a vocational school that results in a work from home job
@Bobaganusche88, I don’t believe this at all, you are telling me, you didn’t challenge them? The hospital didn’t tell work you have asthma ? You’re telling me you did nothing to try and keep your job from calling you a faker, HUGE DOUBT
Edit, I went to the hospital after a car accident while on work hours , I was hit, after being checked in settling into my gown and bed , I felt off so I told the nurse / doctors my ribs ached but I thought it just muscle pain, 2 min in, they took me to get an X-ray from me saying it hurt a little. So you are full of crap, they checked me so quick. So your lies are bad
@Bobaganusche88, thats very sad to hear, can they legally fire you if you literally passed out and had to go to a hospital? Do you know if there is any legal action you can take
@DrSin, why I also doubt. I have asthma that has put me in the hospital at least once a year for my entire 34 year only life. But can breathe fine through a mask. “Medical bills” for a concussion? I am a small business owner with 50-75 employees. No way in fvck I’m risking the lawsuit of firing someone for being anti-mask. I have 3 of them. Just have to hide their dumbasses.
@Bobaganusche88, sucks man but seems highly doubtful.
You’re implying that a hospital refused you medically required breathing treatments claiming you were lying...
If that was true you would easily be able to sue the hospital. So no, I apologize but I call BS.
If this is true then reach out to a lawyer the hospital needs to be warned not to do such a monumentally stupid thing. Something that no doctor or nurse would ever do...
@ConfusedEngineer, dude it’s clearly fake, he claims the hospital refused him access to asthma treatments...
As for being fired for not being able to wear a mask. That depends. Technically you can’t be fired for medical reasons.
So while they wouldn’t be able to fire you for being medically unsound they can start looking for a valid reason to let you go.
TLDR version, basically no they can’t fire you for medically not being able to wear a mask but that won’t stop them from just randomly needing to let someone go and choosing you or saying your work is unsatisfactory and firing you.
@George Feeny, I will note that you can be fired for medical reasons on a single aspect. For example if you use up all your sick time and vacation time then suddenly get sick you can be fired.
Even with a doctors note you will still likely get a write up in that case at the very least. You’re expected to save those sick days for emergency’s.
Since most places I have worked allow for a single sick day to be used for the next day as well I have honestly never run out unless I used them just to get out of working on days I wanted off.
@Bobaganusche88, if true, this enrages me.
@ConfusedEngineer, yes cause life works that way
@Bobaganusche88, the militant mask people are a full-on cult. Sorry you’re life has been trashed by stupid people. You might have a legitimate lawsuit, I would consult a lawyer if I were in your situation.
@George Feeny, being skeptical is fine but based on this first comment, you have far more faith in the medical system than you should. People get denied appropriate treatment all the time.
@Hot Coffee, see that’s the thing I’m not skeptical I’m calling BS.
My reasons, because unless I am mistaken asthma treatments are something that hospitals charge for.
Hospitals aren’t known for turning down hypochondriacs who are requesting expensive tests. I highly doubt that they are turning down requests for inhalers they can charge for.
Besides if you claimed to have trouble breathing they would start by listening to your lungs then run chest X-rays. From there they would have you stay over for observation if they still couldn’t find anything and you are still have difficulties breathing. From there they would begin running many many tests. This is all basic knowledge so no, it’s fake unless the dude rejected all tests and just wanted a note saying he had asthma and didn’t need a mask or some nonsense
@Hot Coffee, or maybe instead of blaming the promaskers it’s those who can’t follow a simple rule that are the problem?
You know expecting people to follow a clearly posted set of rules and punishing them for choosing not to is kind of the basis of a civilized society...
@George Feeny, I do expect people to follow clearly posted rules.
The problem is the rule.
Unfortunately, the pro-mask cult isn’t interested in having a discussion about it. The topic is completely political now. If there is anything to be learned from 2020 it’s opinion trumps reality every single time.
@Hot Coffee, yes, because scientific facts are political. CDC says that masks are the best thing we can do to stop the spread of coronavirus, but clearly they're only saying that because of all the political points it gets them.
@StoneFarb, oh, but they are. Just look up the discovery of hand washing or the history of string theory, look up climate change if you need a recent day politicized “scientific” topic other than COVID19.
Furthermore, do you really think there aren’t politics involved in how much funding the CDC gets? Who controls the US government right now? Who sets the budgets? Which party has overwhelmingly pushed masks and lockdowns?
If you want proof of politics controlling scientific narrative, go look up the question of lab origin for COVID19 from winter last year. Look up what WaPo reported initially then how the song changed when Trump brought up the possibility it originated in a lab. Now look at the current discussion about it. Completely. Political.
@Bobaganusche88, I would think it is not the mask. Something else is going on. Anxiety/panic attack? It is proven that only a small portion of extremely lung compromised individuals can’t wear masks, and those people should not be out and about. Lots of people with severe asthma do fine in masks, they dont change your oxygen levels.
@Hot Coffee, that sure is a lot of interesting information, and I don't doubt that it's true, but I'm afraid I still don't see your point. Are you implying that the data saying wearing facemasks prevents transmission of SARS-CoV-2 to others by 79% was falsified to serve a political agenda? To what end? What could Democrats possibly have to gain from that? What could anyone (besides mask manufacturers) have to gain from that? Sure, anyone can skew and interpret data to serve their own agenda, it's true. But you can still look at the science objectively and see that wearing masks saves lives. Who cares about which sides of the aisle say what? Isn't even the potential of saving a life worth the inconvenience, regardless of anyone else's agendas?
@StoneFarb, mad props to the Dems. They win! They get all the power, which is crazy because they weren’t even trying to get all the power! Not their fault all the talking points and “science” backed their policy positions. Nope, they gained absolutely nothing from destroying the economy and blaming it on Trump. Not. One. Thing.
Enjoy years of crazy high unemployment, never ending mask mandates, skyrocketing inflation, your government checks and government housing.
But do something first, go check on the average age of death for COVID19, and check on the overall survival rate (i.e. the population survival rate) for COVID19. Next look up suicide rates before the lockdowns and compare them to current rates.
You’ve been duped but you don’t have to stay duped.
@Hot Coffee, I'm still confused. Mask mandates and other counter-coronavirus measures cause suicide? That correlation automatically indicates causality?
@Hot Coffee, I think what you're trying to say is that Democrats want people to believe that masks and social distancing are necessary because it helps them achieve their schemes to gain power? And you know what, you're probably right. And I'm not gonna hold it against you for thinking that. I usually vote blue because I distrust the GOP. I'm assuming you vote red because you distrust the DNC? I feel like both are acceptable viewpoints. Politicians, generally speaking, are self-serving and untrustworthy. I distrust Democrats as well, just less than I distrust Republicans at the moment. So I will always empathize with someone's mistrust for politicians' motives.
But here's my point. Regardless of whatever power grabs and political machinations the Democrats are doing, wearing masks saves lives. Social distancing saves lives. There are many bad people repeating these rhetorics for their own selfish motives, but that doesn't make these facts any less true. So wear your mask.
@Hot Coffee, nah the economy is fine we'll just print another $10 trilly like we did in 2020.
@StoneFarb, fine. By your logic we must social distance and wear masks indefinitely. If that’s really how you want to live, you do you, but stop dragging others into your paranoid hypochondriac reality.
And just to be clear, in case no one told you, the end state of all people is death. We all are going to die. But some of us want to live in the meantime.
Republicans only redeeming quality is they’re inept and don’t do anything when they have power.
@StoneFarb, losing social connections drives people to suicide, why do I have to point this out to you? Just go look up the recent suicide rates.
@member berry, big brain economics, we should just all be communists! You’re going great at mindless consumption
@Hot Coffee, paranoid hypochondriac reality? Are you serious? It's the worst pandemic to ever happen to the world in 100 years. The media does exaggerate the worst of it, but it is still very much hitting the world harder than anything we've faced in generations. But vaccines are coming, which will eventually lead to herd immunity. And that will someday lead to the virus dying out. Just be patient. Yeah, everyone's going to die someday, but there's no need to accelerate that just because selfish people are unable to make small sacrifices to their social lives. And yes suicide rates are up but the world is in the crapper right now, what do you expect? Sometimes the world turns shjtty because of bad people, and sometimes it turns bad in a way that's no one's fault. There's not always someone to blame for everything 100% of the time. It's not logical to place the blame for suicides on the feet of people trying to keep others safe.
@Hot Coffee, also I don't think it's fair to call me a hypochondriac, because I'm not afraid of getting sick. I've already had COVID, and I was fine. If I get it again, I'll probably still be fine. But I couldn't live with myself if my carelessness got someone else sick, who is maybe not able to handle COVID as easily as I did. I'm not concerned for my own safety, I'm concerned for safety of everyone else. It's called "empathy".
@Hot Coffee, dude I am not even a Democrat. You state the “mask wearing cult” refuse to listen to logic so I am happy to listen.
The pro is that statistics show that there is SOME benefit to wearing a mask and DOES make an minor impact on the spread. Sure it’s not large percentage but it does exist and nobody can disagree with that. It also makes a some people feel safer to wear it and know others around them wear it. Which is a psychological pro.
Now as far as I understand the con is people don’t like being told what to do. Also some few people experienced panic attacks due to the mask (since we all know asthma isn’t the cause of trouble breathing through such a thin barrier).
Can you advise me what you think is the reason for your adamant belief that we’re being duped by wearing a mask? I mean the single benefit very much out weighs the negative in my eye.
I may be missing a negative and am happy to listen, but from what I can find more people benefit from wearing it.
@StoneFarb, dude. HIV
There is blame. Blame on the reaction to the virus. Blame on the disgusting framing of the insanely inflated danger of COVID19. Blame for abusing the trust Americans have in the medical community. Blame for refusing to hold China to account for how this shïtstorm began.
You’re correct that natural disasters happen. But I exhort you to look at how this event has been perverted and twisted for pure political brinkmanship. It was clear in June that the initial response was disproportionate to the threat posed by COVID19.
I just wish Trump had advocated for harsher lockdowns and more draconian social interaction rules. We’d be back to normal now if he had.
@George Feeny, man, you’re cherry picking you “science” with this one. Respiratory viruses have always existed. They’re never going away. By your logic, masks are permanent because they make “some” difference in the rate of transmission.
Look up studies about the correlation of weakened immune function and kids raised in hyperclean environments.
If someone needs me to wear a mask to feel safer about being in public, that person shouldn’t go out in public. I would feel safer if I didn’t have to interact with someone like that. Who knows what insane perception filter they have? They’re just like people who get scared when black people are around.
As to your question, the average age of death from COVID19 is 85 y.o. Compared to the overall life expectancy of 78 years for the USA COVID19 actually adds 7 years to your life expectancy. The overall fatality rate is approximately 0.3% which to be fair is 50% higher than the flu which has a 0.2% death rate. These are the CDC numbers.
@Hot Coffee, so what is your reason for not wearing the mask? Through that entire comment you didn’t really give a reason you just gave factoids.
Im not trying to argue at this point that doesn’t seem helpful, I am literally asking you what you think is a good reason to not wear a mask so I can compare that against the reasons to wear one.
Or was your reason just that viruses will always exist so there is no reason to bother trying to slow the spread and there is no reason to wear a mask because the virus only kills old people so you shouldn’t wear it because you’re not at risk?
@George Feeny, I am handing you the chance you claim mask wearers never give you. The chance to state your reasons for not wearing it.
Don’t throw random facts and statistics around just state plain and simply what you think. You could easily change someone’s mind. So far the only reasons anyone has heard are the people who say they don’t want to which is why they are told to grow up because they seem to live in a world where not wanting to follow the law really matters. They are childishly holding to that fact and making the anti maskers look like kids.
If you have reasons that aren’t as juvenile as not wanting to then please give them this is your chance dude. I’m honestly curious not looking to argue or some nonsense.
Get this propaganda out of my funny
Face mask is 1 thing im never without now its become a habit to keep one on me all the while
I don’t wear it over my nose because fvck all of you
Except some people have actrual medical conditions. People with bad athma and lung condition may have difficulty breathing past the mask.
@CocoasBro, and 99% of people dont. yet way more than 1% of people abstain from mask use
@CocoasBro, then they shouldn’t be in such places during a pandemic. I honestly can’t think of a single situation that would matter.
I mean let’s be honest just about every store or restaurant now has curb side pick up, and hospitals and doctors office and any other medical fields can work with people who need special considerations during appointments. And companies are required to set up special work locations their employees for medical reasons perhaps outside or in a single office where they can be isolated.
So honestly where the hell would someone who can’t wear a freaking piece of cloth over the mouth for medical reasons need to go so badly during a freaking pandemic?!?
Honestly that excuse is about the silliest one I have had people try and argue. It makes no sense they will try and use it at sit down restaurants or bars... they should just be honest they don’t want to wear it and think they shouldn’t have to.
@George Feeny, I don’t mean to sound like I am attacking you personally just your argument. I simply hate people that try and pull that kind of crap.
@Hoban Washburne, is that an actrual statistic or did you just make that up.
@George Feeny, The store, the doctors, pharmacy. Not everyone has cars, or an internet connection man. And people with lung conditions and athma may need to eat sometime, or get some medicines.
@CocoasBro, did you even read my comment man? I specifically stated why each of those situations can easily be avoided by those who refuse to wear a mask.
I mean I admit it’s long comment but that was because I wanted to state how simply that argument can be disproven as a valid argument against making masks mandatory
@George Feeny, maybe so. But fvck you for being a sheep anyways
@philbert15, I don’t think you’re supposed to fvck sheep man but I guess as long as they are consenting adults it’s between y’all.
All that coming from people who caused all viruses because they want to eat a rotting carcass
@eksat, are you drunk posting?
The cdc just decided to release that people should now wear surgical mask with cloth masks over that mask.
As if we haven’t had enough trouble trying to get people to wear a single mask properly as it is...
Fvck you and your mask rules
All I see is a business owner trying to stay open when everyone else is screaming form the comfort of there stimulus check cashing asses
That last one could go a long way!
