Is it even meat if it's well done?
@JewishXenu, chicken is
@Mantis Tobaggan, salmonella meat doesn't count
@JewishXenu, is it even edible if it's rare?
@JewishXenu, well its meat, just flavourless. My dad randomly out of nowhere last week said he's going to start doing his steaks well done because he preferred it. I ate the steak he made me. Flavourless. No seasoning didn't help, but still. Like flavourless to the point where the looked down upon tomato ketchup was a good option.
@Enormous fire, yes
@JewishXenu, it’s basically just hide at that point
@Enormous fire, Hi, V(eggie)Sauce here! Let me elaborate on rare/medium rare meat. Basically the cross sections of the meat come directly from the animal, if it were to have disease/not fresh, the animal muscle would have been diseased while it was alive and the animal not selected for consumption. Chicken is sorta different cuz you cut it into smaller chunks so it’s got greater surface area exposed to open air more allowing for higher risk of outside bacterial/viral contamination. Plus raw chicken tastes gross. Probably. And if you cut up meat like beef, pork or goat into smaller chunks or have ground meat, you usually cook it all the way through, or at least until the inside is 165 F, you can sterilize the meat at that temp and still have it rare/medium rare.
Professor Veggie out.
@JewishXenu, oh look, it's the guy from the picture
@JewishXenu, yes it’s meat, whereas you eat animal
Y'all n¡ggas cook it?
@Ajunta Pall, I prefer my steak alive
@Ajunta Pall, dude i just realized you are old poster i believe. Or im confusing you with someone else.
@Cuactemoc4919, I am. 2015 was my peak.
@Ajunta Pall, good year was 25 single depressed. Yet no worries
@Cuactemoc4919, I'm 25, almost engaged, and depressed, so 2/3
@Ajunta Pall, didnt happen to break up with them?
@Cuactemoc4919, no, just haven't proposed yet. She's already heavily implied she'll say "yes" though.
@Ajunta Pall, glad your tale had a good outcome.
Medium-rare is correct.
@DesignatedElfWhipper, medium-rare is acceptable, when the meat has significant marbling. Pure, dense meat should be rare.
@Empshok, "Pure, dense meat" 😏
@Colombian Sugar, that's what she said.
How everyone looks at people who eat it well done
A good steak pun is a rare medium well done
Man, what's with the hate against people who don't like pink meat? It's gotta be one of the most unfounded supremacist mindset I've come across.
To be fair I prefer people who eat my meat to do it well done
Anyone know what this pic is from? I thought it was a young Rowan Atkinson, but now I’m not so sure.
@Pubmarine Shamwich, Pretty sure it's from one of the Twilight films.
My grandmother likes her hotdogs charred.... I’m not joking, they go on the grill about 2 minutes before everything else does... I like my meat a little over cooked, but I have a legitimate reason (stepfather couldn’t cook to save his life, meat was served undercooked, leading to a lot of food poisoning, I guess it traumatized me or something) but I’m talking almost completely black on the outside for her hot dogs
@UncommonSense, those are the best hotdogs.
I say live and let live. If you like it well done, enjoy! But if you haven’t tried medium or medium rare (or my favorite: rare+), you should give it a go, you might like it.
@Hot Coffee, and if you’re worried about food safety, save up and go to a steakhouse and get them to cook it for you. They will do it safely and you can enjoy without worrying.
I am a cook. Every time someone orders a well done steak or hamburger, we mercilessly roast their ass in the kitchen. Not saying it's right, just that I understand.
If you want to one up them just say you eat you steak Blue rare.
