@I Are Lebo, It’s because Johnny Depp decided to. The character was originally meant be a fairly traditional pirate - but Depp just rocked up and started playing him that way, so they ran with it. Apparently it upset Orlando Bloom though, as he felt (correctly, it turns out) that Depp was upstaging him.

@Nellybert , honestly, Orlando Bloom was deluding himself if he thought he ever had a chance of outshining Depp, ESPECIALLY while playing a tight laced lawful good character like Will Turner. Kiera Knightly upstaged Orlando Bloom in those movies.

It's funny. Cause people who are at sea for long periods of time, they get land sick because they can't walk properly and need to retrain themselves. Land sick is a thing cause they need to retrain themselves to walk on land. Humans are Cray Cray.
