How is your car still running
@Ajunta Pall, Horribly.
@Ajunta Pall, a family friend has an older dodge pickup that hasn't had a true oil change in over 150k miles, bought new off the lot. Once a year he would replace the filter, and he would top the oil off anytime he thought about it. That poor truck finally gave out and died a few months ago.
@Ajunta Pall, an old Toyota can do it just fine with the right oil.
@Ajunta Pall, my sisters first car was a Corolla. It made it 23,000 miles before it threw a rod cuz she didn’t know oil changes were a thing
Honestly, it's cheaper to take it to an oil change place. Should run $20 - $30. Buying oil for my car from walmart cost me $20, plus a filter, so $25 total.
@bowlnmike, Yo, what place you going to? Everywhere around me wants to charge like $80 for an oil change. And that's 5qt of synthetic blend cause they don't carry conventional anymore. That's not just 1 place that's all of them around me. Plus my car take 7qt which they charge extra for. I can get oil, and a filter at fleet farm for like $25 and do it myself though
@satan of the north, I go to Mr.Tire, but I've also gone to Monro Muffler and Meineke. Even my local non-chain mechanic does it for like $35. If you go online to their sites, they usually have coupons. The best ones are when it is $25 and they throw in free wiped blades.
Excuse me but wheres the filter
Funny story today I had a girl I use to chat with tell me how she added 5 quarts to her oil without draining an out. Drove home with it shooting smoke out of the tailpipe like a spy movie and when she got home it cut off and wouldn't start again. I couldn't stop laughing.
They have 20k miles oil now not that I would use it.
@CrazyRightWinger, Modern engines with synthetic are 15k interval.
