Idk anything about rings but I'm looking at them too, that would be heartbreaking. Proposing on carpeted floors for sure now.
Send her in after it.
Now he’s engaged to whatever fish catches it
@jasontype40 ya man rings are expensive but if you shop around you can usually find a good deal. I went to Robin's brothers and they wanted $15k for the ring I was looking at and I found another that was able to get me a better quality ring for $8k. that place also had really high end rings for $2k amd up
@bigjelly66, gotta get moissanite, 1/3 the cost of diamond, more brilliant, far more rare, and nearly as hard.
Having just started looking at rings to buy that pains me knowing that's at least $6,000 that just blew away
@jasontype40, If I ever propose, I'm proposing with a Ring Pop. Or at least with something cheap. Not because I myself am cheap, but because I feel like I'm more practical than that. I'd much rather spend thousands on a car or a down payment on a house or on something useful than a little piece of jewelry. And hopefully the girl I wanna marry *knock on wood* will have similar sensibilities as I do.
But then again, that may be why I'm single.
@jasontype40, where did you get $6k from? There are plenty of rings cheaper than that
@The Pocket Taco, I used to think the exact same thing. But I love my girl a lot and she wants what she wants.
@The real meowman, cheaper? Absolutely! Poor quality/blood diamonds? Also yes
@The Pocket Taco, Do it! My husband proposed with a gummy saver. Afterwards, we saved together and had a custom ring made with an Oregon-mined 3 carat sunstone - it’s not only beautiful but wound up costing less than $3k.
@The Pocket Taco, the right girl won’t care about the ring, only who’s proposing!
@jasontype40, depends on the size she wants too. I spent four for my ex. Great quality, 3/4 karat, white gold band.
@jasontype40, Pawn shops my friend. You can get a beautiful ring and resize it if needed for way less than 6k.
@Banana Waffle, My husband and I bought like $15 spinner rings for wedding/engagement at a hippie store, then he found his grandmas galaxy white gold and diamond ring and gave me that. I was just happy with being married to him though lol
@gneeshot, very true. I also know I’d end up breaking any setting that isn’t within the band itself either by a clumsy accident or by using it as a convenient weapon.
@The Pocket Taco, good luck finding a woman like that. Im practical aswell women are more materialistic creatures. Cant explain on internet well. But females are babymakers thats partial explanation.
@gneeshot, there are no right girls thanks to debears group.
@The Pocket Taco, my wife sorta chose her engagement ring. It was £80 when she first saw it. When you next went past the jewellers, it was £60. Some women don't feel comfortable wearing 1000's of £/$ worth on their person.
Good luck to you, hope you find someone.
@Albatraous, I agree. We didn’t do engagement rings, but we had a custom silver wedding ring for my wife at around £60 - £80. I have a plain black titanium band at £20. Our wedding cost less than £500. It’s not the price of the ring but the people getting married that’s important.
@jasontype40, I bought my wife's engagement ring for about $3k. Excellent quality and decent size. Don't let the big name jewelers try and convince you that you have to spend that much
@The Pocket Taco, you clumsy as hell, huh?
@Cuactemoc4919, for the life of me, I hope to god you're just trolling and not that simple minded
@The real meowman, the ring i proposed with was 300$....she said yes. My wedding band was 50$.
@The Pocket Taco, my husband proposed with a “simple” ring. I was the one who told him when the jewelry store was having a sale because it was ridiculous to spend the full price and he was adamant that he wanted to propose with a ring (got the ring on sale for around 1k). I told him a twist tie from a bread bag would have worked, like they did in the Fantastic Four movie (😅)
I wanted to marry HIM. I would have been happy to have been married in a courthouse as long as it was to him. We’ll be celebrating 5 years of marriage this year. Every time I look at him, I love him more and more.
We’re out there.
@The Pocket Taco, you want to propose with something cheap?
If you're gonna get your dïck out then check your surroundings before hand, good sir
@The Pocket Taco, sorry my dude, you’re gonna be hard pressed to find a lady who won’t want a ring. Try to wait out your parents dying or something like that so you can use their rings, it’ll look sentimental but we’d know it’s a Lil Dicky move cause we goin save day money .
@The Pocket Taco, yeah prolly why you’re single
@jasontype40, my wife and I have been married for 11 years and I got her a $1600 engagement ring. We make plenty of money now but she still wears it.
@The real meowman, I appreciate it. I'm getting a 1 karrot diamond on a platinum band with side stones. So the 4-5k price tag on it from Blue Nile is actually really cheap
@CrazyRightWinger, my girl has said she'd take anything (and she's the type. To say that honestly) but I've been blessed and can save up enough to get her her dream ring. I know it's not really about the ring with marriage but I still want her to think it's perfect
@jasontype40, if you can afford it that's great
@jasontype40, Remember to get the ring insured! It’s, like, $10/mo and you can protect your investment.
Rings get dropped way more than you’d expect. Propose safely my friends.
Dude ring shopping was one of the most stressful times in my entire life. My wife is like, “why you know I was gonna say yes,” and she just doesn’t understand the stress of buying the ONE most important jewelry ever. That all her friends are going to judge.
She better of said yes
